Where and how to send package from resort to home?

I was planning on shipping a few items such as my coffee maker and some non-perishibles to the resort before my trip. Then was going to ship my coffee maker back to my house using a flat rate box through USPS. Unfortunately, when I went to my local post office to buy the postage for the box, they said that I can't get it without the package being weighed (which makes no sense to me since it's flat rate) and that I have to take it to a post office to mail it.

I've heard of others sending stuff back home (other than resort purchases). So how would I do this of I have no vehicle and am staying on property?

As a flat rate box you should be able to pay and print your postage online at home for the return and mail it from your resort.

Flat rate is "if it fits it ship." I just buy the box for the rate. I would try another post office or another teller. Maybe the person didn't know what you were talking about. I have two post offices near me. One is so bad you can understand why USPS is hurting. The other one room post office rocks.
