When's your fall break?

I'm in South Jersey. We start a bit later this year. September 7. We usually start the day after Labor Day but this year it's the Thursday after. We get off for Columbus Day and then Jersey Week which is the first full week of November. For Jersey week they have 1/2 day Monday, off Tuesday for election day, 1/2 day Wednesday and then off Thursday and Friday. LOTS of parents pull their kids out and go away that week.

Our schools district near San Diego, Ca has fall break Sept 18-Oct 3rd. We start school the end of July.

Here in Florida I've never heard of an extended school break in October. Looking at it, our district gets one day off which is October 16th.

Must be more of an up north thing cause I don't believe any school in the south partake in a fall break

I would actually think more southern schools would get a fall break, since they typically go back to school in August. Since a lot of schools in the north don't go back until Labour Day, they would seem to be less likely to have a week off in October.

I'm in Ontario, Canada. No fall break here. We have Thanksgiving in October (one day) and then nothing else other than one PD Day until Christmas vacation.

No fall break in NJ. We don't start school until after Labor Day then we get 1 or 2 of the Jewish holidays in October. November we get a Thursday/Friday off for teacher's convention usually the first full week of November.

NW Ohio - no real fall break there. Next year our kids have 9-17 off for a staff training day and then 11-6 and 11-7 for conferences/teaching training and then 11-22 to 11-24 off for Thanksgiving break.

ETA - jealous of those that start early and get a fall break! :) Our kids go back Aug. 16 for the year :( Granted they get out before Memorial Day but still, I would rather start later...

That's right. We don't get off for Columbus Day. We get off for the Jewish holidays.

They are in Sept this year. My kids' school's break is always tied to at least one of them. My break is Columbus week, but I am also off 9/21 for a Rosh Hashana.

Third full week in September for Henry County, Ga schools (Sept 18-22). That's the week we went to WDW last fall and plan on doing so again in 2018!

I'm in South-Central PA, we start in late August. No fall break for me (when in school, one district over) or my kids, unless you count Thanksgiving.

No fall break in Maine. We do get Columbus Day off but that's it.

I've never heard of a fall break. In Central Ohio we start mid August with no break until Thanksgiving aside from Labor day and one lone teacher training day in October

Hamilton Co. schools in Chattanooga, TN are on fall break Oct. 9-13 with a teacher work day Friday, October 6.

We don't get a fall break. The public schools here get the second Friday of October off due to a local festival, but we don't even get that.

That makes more sense to me now because I swore they were in September but looked at this past years calendar and saw they both fell in October. I only get one in my district but my kids get both wherever they fall.
