When's your fall break?

i know a lot of schools have fall breaks in October... When is yours?

Dekalb county in Georgia is Oct 5-9.

My college has off October 9th and 10th, so we'll be using those as the starting dates for our trip - better to only miss one of each class if need be.

My kids in a neighboring district is Sept 20-22

Here in Florida I've never heard of an extended school break in October. Looking at it, our district gets one day off which is October 16th.

Must be more of an up north thing cause I don't believe any school in the south partake in a fall break

Like @CAS239 said Orange County (Orlando) get October 16th and also October 27th off. They used to group these 2 days together so people could have a long 4 day weekend.

Ours is the first week of Oct. We're in a city school system in NE Georgia. Our county has two city schools systems and a county system. The other city system in the county is off the week of Columbus Day, and the county schools have Oct. 11-13 off with Oct. 11 being a professional development day for teachers.

Most of the school systems around are more like our county schools in that they take two or three days as a break in October. However, there is one county near us that also takes a week. Their break is the week of Columbus Day.

MA schools do not have a fall break.

NY doesn't have one. We only have Columbus Day. In the past, Yom Kippur has fallen near Columbus Day so some schools did a multiple day break, but this year it's just October 9th. NY does have off 9/21 and 9/22 due to Rosh Hashanah.

We always have Columbus Day off and occasionally the day after if there is a PD scheduled that day but typically we don't have a fall "break" in MA

I am in a district in North East Ohio. We are only getting October 20th off. We do have November 22, 23, 24 at Thanksgiving. Most of North East Ohio is set up this way.

In NJ we dont get Fall break. We start in September (typically after Labor Day) and other than long weekend holidays nothing until Election day, then 2 days later that same week time off for teachers convention, then long Thanksgiving Weekend, Christmas break, 2 day Winter break and week long Spring break right after Good Friday.

Ours is pushed back this year to October 16-23rd. (we go back August 9th)

In Oklahoma, it varies a lot by district. The OKC public schools have a shorter summer break (they call it a year round schedule I think but it isn't really), so they have a long fall break. They are out From October 7 to the 23. I know other districts that are out the 18th to the 20th. We are out the 11-13, which is late for us this year as we are usually the week before Columbus day. We don't ever get Columbus day off, and neither do most of the Oklahoma school districts. I know other districts that are out the same time we are. Another district not too far from us is out the 19 to 23. So- basically most around here are somewhere between the 7th and the 20th this year. Even though most of our districts only get 2 or 3 days off, a lot of parents pull their kids the rest of the week and go somewhere.

Cobb County in GA gets the last week of September (25th-29th) off for fall break.
