does he get whiny and become the biggest baby ever? Mine sure does! I don't mind making chicken noodle soup and crackers for him...but oh my! The whining sure comes out! Anyone else deal with this?

When I met my husband, he was all macho and tough when he got sick or hurt. Marriage can change a man. He has turned into a bigger whiny-baby than my kids.

No never, thank goodness. He just gets on with life. :thumbsup2

Good heavens, yes! My DH is normally a very good-natured, easygoing man, but give him a cold and he's on his deathbed!

Mine isn't a whiner at all and neither am I. I think if my dh was being whiny about being sick I'd be tempted to kick him in the nards just for being a pansie! :rotfl2:

Sorry you have to deal with a sick dh though! Maybe add a little whiskey to his soup or something! ;)

Oh, yeah! It gets pathetic at times. On certain occasions I definately don't mind helping him out (like getting something upstairs because his asthma is acting up). But other times, he is just a big baby, especially when we are both not feeling well.

OMG yes! He wants me to be his mommy or something and I'm sorry but I just do not do that!
And what's worse is, I can tell my 15 year old son is going to be just the same. He gets a cold and he carries on like he's got the plague. My 19 year old daughter, on the other hand, takes some tylenol and keeps on going to work and school and everything goes as normal. Let's hear it for real women!

Yes. If DH gets a cold, he whines and complains enough that you would think he was dying.... and he isn't good for doing ANYTHING around the house when he's sick. But when I'm sick, I still get to clean, cook, take care of the kids, etc....

My dh had the flu once, and hooked up ds11's old baby monitor so that he could lie in bed upstairs, but without getting up, call for me downstairs . That didn't last too long, as after about an hour of bugging me for the littlest things, I told him I was going to take that monitor and shove it where the sun don't shine. He really changed after ds had meningitis when he was three, though. We saw what "sick" was really like, and after that, a little cold didn't seem too bad after all. :)

Yeah, my dh does too. It's annoying! Thank goodness he doesn't get sick very much!

Yes with a capital "Y". Dh turns itno mega-wuss-baby- when he is sick. I also get to listen to him whine and moan when he's got muscle aches and pains (neck hurts from sitting at his desk at work) but God help me if I ask him to rub the foot I had stepped on by a horse while I was mucking out 21 stalls, riding 3 horses, and teaching 4 hours of riding lessons...he will literally make up a sotry about how his hand hurts too much to rub my foot (or he'll claim, he'll do it but it will probably be short and lousy).

Now when HE's sick or wounded, I get to baby him and get him stuff and make him special food. It's his mother's fault. She TOTALLY babied him (though at least those apron strings are cut)

I love it when a bug runs through the house....I am up all night with BOTH kids through the night holding the bucket while they're throwing up, and then I get it well because it's in the house now and then DH gets it and all of a sudden it is the Bubonic Plague.....and you never, EVER have/had it as bad as HE did :rotfl2:

Nope, my guy is the opposite. Won't admit he's sick, tries to carry on, business as usual. When he's really sick, I have to force him to stay home. Almost afraid to complain, because he's sure it could be worse and he's "asking for it" if he does whine. He's from Minnesota. I also have to drag him, almost kicking and screaming to the doctor. He could be barfing up his socks, and he'll say he's "a little under the weather, doncha know".

Not a word JennymominRI!............ Not a word!

Oh yeah............ The world stops for him, I just keep going and going like the engerizer bunny

A runny nose stops Dh in his tracks, he's a HUGE baby!
After I gave birth to our first child, (I labored through the night) that morning he actually whined about how tired he was and said he was going home to take a nap. The nurse gave him a death stare but that didn't deter him, he went home to nap.
That was over seven years ago and I still give him grief about it.

I am a guy who does not whine when ill. I remember when I first learned of the "he-man-goes-whiny" phenomenon many years ago. I was shocked as I discovered that many men just fall to pieces when they catch a cold. I don't even like to mention to DW that I am not feeling because she'll tell me "you sure get sick a lot."

My bf gets sick like twice a year, but when he does he's a major baby. Ditto for any kind of dental appt or such. He got a cavity filled once, and he acted like he needed to "sleep it off" for a whole day. Uh yeah not that bad buddy...
