Hi everyone, I am so excited to be writing this Pre-Trip report! Before I go any further, I think the best thing to do is to introduce our cast of characters.

I will start by introducing our main character and wish kid, Dylan.

:darth: Dylan is 7 years old. When we found out we were pregnant with our second child, we were so thrilled! While my pregnancy with him wasn't as pleasant as with my last (lots of nausea, vomiting, weight loss, etc.), we never imagined something could be wrong. Everything was going great; we found out we were having another boy and we were so happy. Our 21 week ultrasound didn't go as we had hoped, though. We were expecting to hear that our baby was developing great and that everything looked perfect. Instead, he was diagnosed with a congenital kidney malformation called Unilateral Renal Agenesis. This meant he would only be born with one kidney, because the other had failed to form. We were told to hope for the best, but expect the worst. The weeks between diagnosis and his birth were an emotional roller coaster filled with ups and downs. Our beautiful boy was born 2.5 weeks early, but thankfully he did great. When he was born, his Kidney was functioning at 93%, which wasn't too bad. We were able to head home 3 days later and his Kidney's worked pretty well for about a year and a half or so. Then his Kidney started to become tired of doing all the work by itself, and his function started to decrease and he was in early stages of Chronic Kidney Disease. He's moved down and down, and a week ago, his nephrologist informed us that Dylan is now in Stage 4 (severe) Chronic Kidney Disease. His Kidney is only functioning at a 26% and we have already started talking about dialysis and transplant (the big, bad scary stuff). We're very near that point  So, that brings us here. After MANY procedures, appointments, medications, inpatient stays, and countless medical problems (kidney related and not), his doctor nominated him for a wish! pixiedust: He was so thrilled! He wished to train to be a Jedi and fight Darth Vader (he got very creative with his wish :rotfl:); and Walt Disney World turns out to be the very best place to do that! Dylan is a sweet, smart little boy. He's such a great big brother to our youngest, and he always wants to do the things his big brother does. He is such a courageous kid and even though he's had it rough he never lets it get to him! He LOVES anything and everything that is related to Disney and this Disney wish was an easy one for him to make! He is thrilled!

Ok, so now that I've introduced the wish kid, I'll move on to the rest of the family.

princess: I'll start off with myself. My name is Kate and I'm 33. I was an elementary school teacher for 8 years, and have been a stay at home mom for 3 years. I love being with my family and doing things together. As a child, my family made MANY Disney World trips (at least once a year). I love all things Disney and am glad I have passed that gene on to my children :rotfl: I'm the only female in my home, so I know I may not be seeing very many princesses on this trip :faint:

:surfweb: Then there's my hubby, Hunter. He's also 33 and he's an IT manager and an amazing father and husband. He loves spending time outdoors with his boys. He went on about 5 Disney trips as a child and he also loves all things Disney! We had our wedding and honeymoon at Disney World, and it's hard to believe it is going to be 11 years in 2 months since then!

:goofy: Next comes Ingram. Ingram is 9 years old, and he's our oldest. He is a quite and very smart kid. He is such an amazing big bro to both of his little brothers and he is always very concerned and wants to be included when talking about Dylan's health. He's awesome! He loves Disney and is so excited for his brothers wish trip!

:mickeyjum And last but not least, there's the baby of the family, Lincoln. He's 3 years old and he is our funny, spunky little guy. He looks up to and loves his brothers so much! He says he can't wait to see Mickey Mouse and asks me everyday about when we're going. He tells everyone he meets that his big brother wished to go to Disney World and that the Genie is going to take our family there. :lmao:

So, that's our family. We're so happy Dylan is going to have his wish granted! We can't wait. Sadly, we haven't been able to make as many trips to WDW with our kids as we would like. I wish we could go as much as we went during my childhood. This trip will be Ingram and Dylan's 3rd trip to Disney World, and Lincoln's 2nd. We're all so excited for this trip though, and our countdown has begun :wave2:

One thing I haven't mentioned is DATES!

We will be staying at Give Kids the World from October 25th until October 31st. We extended our trip by 1 night so that we can attend Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party on Halloween night! We will be staying at the All-Star Movies that last night.

We can't wait!!

You guys are down to the count with your trip! Have a wonderful time and I can't wait to read all about it !!!!
