When you waitlist for something can you...

tell them you will take any view? Has anyone done this? For example...you waitlist for BWV for certain days...can you tell them you will take any view that opens or do you have to give them a choice of standard, preferred or boardwalk preferred?? Thanks

Sure - and it is probably a good idea to be as flexible as possible when using the waitlist (dates, resort and even villa-type are other ways to be flexible when looking for waitlisted reservations).

Except for BWV (and soon AKV) , there is no advantage to including view in your request, since views are not guaranteed at other DVC resorts and are just considered requests. At BWV and AKV, those are distinct reservation categories.

You can set up separate wait lists. Each item that would be a separate reservation is a separate wait list. Using BWV 2 BR as an example, you could have a wait list for any combo of BW view, SV or preferred view. If you did it correctly, you could cont your wait list for any appropriate options even after you matched something. Say you first got the preferred view but would rather have SV or BW view, you could stay on the wait list for those keeping the already matched preferred view.

Okay so I call back tomorrow and ask to be waitlisted for preferred, BW and standard for the days. I just told her preferred but does that also cover BW since they are both preferred or will they actually put me down for three views for BWV in hopes to get my days? They won't call unless I can get all the days at one place right?

If you wait listed for preferred I'd guess they put you down for preferred only, not BW view. As for calling or matching a wait list, there are two options each. You can wait list day by day or the entire days at one time and you can have them automatically confirm or call. The trouble with wait listing all at once is your chances of success are much less because if they get part of the days but not all, they will give it to someone else and pass you by. You should always wait list day by day if you can.
