When You Open Your Christmas Presents...

DS is 3, so he is generally the only one with gifts under the tree. Our gifts are usually off to the side. So he can run out & tear into it all. We just sit back & watch him before we even think about our gifts.

This year, DH & I have already exchanged gifts, so Santa is leaving something very small in our stockings, basically so DS does not worry about us being on the Naughty list.

I get frustrated every Christmas morning, because I have a strong desire to alternate, while the rest of my family wants to tear into everything they can get their hands on. Sometimes they even open the wrong gifts by mistake. It makes me nuts! Every year they try to amuse me by alternating... it lasts about two rounds and someone yells, "Just open them all!" and that is the end of order. *sigh* maybe this year!

Santa puts everyones in their own pile and all six of us sit in front of our pile and then youngest to oldest kids only open one at a time each , we used to let each of them open all their presents but the other kids couldn't wait and then who ever opened first would be playing and wanting things opened so now they take turns utill they are done, After the kids my DH and I open ours.

Someone usually passes them out then we go around and each person opens one at a time.

We let one of the grandchildren hand out gifts. And we open gifts one at a time, so it's kind of a long process but it's more fun to see what everyone gets rather than everyone opening at the same time.
