When you get a new debit/check card

So, the bank sent me a new check card--same number, new expiration date. I have had it in my purse for a month because I need to change the info on some bills that are drafted from my account each month. Is that something I can do by calling the bank or do I have to call each individual place? For some, I don't know if they just got my checking info or if they use the actual check card info. I don't want anything to "bounce" but some of these places(like my Universal AP flex plan) make it hard to find anything on their websites. I definitely need to activate the new card because my old one is really worn out. It hasn't worked on the card readers in Walmart for months.

First... I'd activate the card and shred the old one.
Second... I'm pretty sure any auto payments are done with (their) knowledge of your account number & bank routing number, NOT your debit card number.
Third... If they ARE using your debit card number, they will contact you if they have a problem.
Fourth... If they ARE using your debit card number, they shouldn't have a problem because the card number stayed the same.

Number stayed the same, but the expiration and the security code changed. I guess I will call my bank Monday and make sure. I'm not activating the new one until the bank is open. Last time I activated a new card, the new one OR the old one didn't work.

Really shouldn't have any problems. The biggest headaches came when we lost a debit card and had to order a replacement. I don't know how many went into the trash cans at Disney (we'd pay for food, then set the card on the tray with the receipt).

If you're on auto pay, check to see if you can change it over to your bank's auto bill payment, that way it's your bank sending money rather than the business taking your money. And you don't have to worry about this kind of stuff.

Secondly, I'd probably just go to Universal's front gate and give them the new card. Had to do that once with Sea World, and it took all of about five minutes. Just don't go in the morning time when the tourists are there lining up. I know Sea World's flex pay was strictly by the debit card number (used as credit), not through the checking account.
