Iam afraid I have been thinking, a dangerous pastime I know. :rotfl: (from beauty and the beast lol)
anyway..…
we have in the past went around and collected our FPs in the morning, with the intention to redeem them later that day. Sometimes we don't get around to using them for whatever reason.
I was curious do most of you give them away? Keep them for scrapbooking?
And this is my big question:
if they are not used that day do you think that's bad? Have we taken away from someone else's FP opportunity? You know the machines run out the times get pushed back. Or is it just too bad you snooze ya lose? :confused3

we try to give ours away but sometimes I come home with a few in my wallet.
Just curious how you all felt about it. :goodvibes

On the rare instances where we haven't been able to use them, we do try to give them away. If no one takes them, I put them in the scrapbook.

I keep one in my wallet and whenever I see it it makes me smile! :goodvibes

We do always try to give them away, but I have always come home with a few. I use them as accents to ride photos, ect. I have felt bad before on a day when the machines run out, but since we really do try to pass them out if we won't use them, not intensely bad. It is only very rarely that we don't use them, and it is usually on a day when the crowds are low and we 'save' them to use if they get busier. Since those are usually days when the machines don't run out, it isn't very often that we end up with extras on a busy day.

I always attempt to give them away, I'm constantly expaining that it's OK to use a FP that has 10:30am-11:30am printed on it @ 9pm!

I always run into that too; they are so excited to get them, until they see the time. Then I wonder if they are even going to use them. :confused3

:lmao:

Isn't that the truth. If the first family doesn't "get it"....i just go on to the next one.

I'll never forget the time i gave out a 2 SM, 2 BTMRR & 2 Grizz Rapids FPs to a 30 something y/o guy with his 7 y/o son (parents were obviously split up) who came out to DL for 5-6 hours one evening (so he hadn't gotten any FPs, but knew what they were) & the kid was flying out the next morning.

I LOVE giving FPs to people who appreciate them. :wizard:

:)

I tried to give them to people but no one understood.

So we take them home for scrapbooking or just memory-bumping while I'm writing out the trip report.

Don't think of it as taking someone else's FP. After all, it's a line-holder. Having that FP says that you will be in the line at some point. Therefore, there's a certain number of people that would have been behind you in a line at some point during the day, even if they didn't know it. Since you are NOT in the line, all of those people have now just gotten onto the ride one person faster than they would have otherwise. :)

We give them away if we have some we haven't used.

And, yes, you actually are taking an opportunity away from someone else if you just throw them away - if you are there on a busy day when FPs run out.

I always keep whatever I don't use. I'm making a pattern out of them and my DLR key cards from my hotel rooms and putting them on my door because it looks so bare.

Random, I know!

We make sure to give them away. My husband has made several people's day by giving them FP to Space Mountain when the wait time was 90 minutes.

An alternate view is that you're letting more standby people ride, and shortening their wait in line, when you don't use your FP. Every cloud has a silver lining. ;)

I give my extras away.

If I can't find any takers, I leave them where someone will find them (ie: on top of a trashcan, on a bench, etc). It's my way of "paying it forward" to the people who've left FPs for me to find.

I like that :wizard: I do feel bad sometimes, when it's busy and they run out. :(
but I do like this viewpoint I think I will adopt it :goodvibes

During our trip to DLR last year we were in DL on our last night and both my mom and I had 2 FP each. We had to catch our flight at 6 am, and it was already very late so we decided to leave. I'm big in to acts of kindness, so I stood around for a few minutes looking around trying to find people who seemed worthy of 4 free FP lol. After a couple minutes I saw a family waiting in line. Mom, dad, a son about 10 y/o and a daughter about 8. So I walked up and asked them if they wanted our 4 FP and they were so happy and appreciative. They said "we couldn't thank you enough". It made my day to make theirs.
