All right, ya'll help me here...DH says we can go to WDW for 6 nights. I have a trip booked Nov 18-24. Kids and DH wish they could go sooner, but not this spring9too many other conflicts.) DD will be in 8th grade next year, very important year for her--gotta pass the GA 8th grade exams to go on to High School. So I'm not keen on her missing a lot of school. the currntly scheduled trip requires she miss two days, but it's the two days before Thanksgiving--big deal.

So here are some alternative dates. What do you think? Will we die of a heat stroke? :confused3
May 30-June 5 or June 3-9

July 24-30

Aug 7-12

Nov 18-24

What would you do? and why? :confused3

Well, your from GA so maybe your tolerance for heat is better than mine but I will avoid the summer at WDW at all costs. We went last June and I nearly died. It was soooo hot everyday.....it really compromised our enjoyment. That's just us though....if heat does not bother you, go earlier than November. Have fun with whatever you decide!

November is the best, but be prepared for LARGE crowds that week!! We went the week before Thanksgiving a couple years ago. It was great. The amount of people checking in as we were checking out was overwhelming though!! So glad we were going home as all those people were arriving. :teeth:

Hello
;)
My kids are 12 and almost 17.
The 17 year old has been going to WDW since he was 1 and the 12 year old since she was 4 mos old. We now go 2x's a year, Feb & April Vacations.
They do really well in school and we do take them out a few days prior to the week they off (we drive) and that's our family time.
The schools won't give any pre homework and haven't for a couple years now, but my kids make things up when they get back.

My DS loves FL so much he's already got a college in mind that he'll be attending in Fall of 2007, right outside Orlando. So I ll be going or moving there for the Winter myself sooner than I thought. I won't mind, and neither will my daughter! :sunny:

Some people will agree or disagree, but our family time is very precious to us and it's what we do. :thumbsup2

Good luck in all your decisions.

pixie dust to everyone!!! :wizard: :moped: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay:

Knowing what you've said about your DH's intolerance for humidity, I have to say that when we went during our early June trip last year, walking outside was like walking into a sauna! WOW, was it humid.

I'd shoot for November. Were you being sarcastic when you said "big deal" about the two days before Thanksgiving? Just curious, because it wouldn't be a big deal where we live.

Thanks, ya'll. You've pretty much confirmed my thinking, which is that going in the summer is going to be hot, hot, hot. And I didn't mention he wants to take the pop-up  DH really doesn't tolerate heat well, but he's just wanting to go to WDW, i think. He sometimes doesn't have a good grasp on just how bad he feels(and acts!) when he is overheated.

I believe we will stick with our November trip. We can take DD out of school the Monday and Tuesday before Thanksgiving with no problem(they're off the rest of that week.) I love Disney in the winter. It's the only time I don't sweat :goodvibes
