Here I go again...I know I am a huge pain, but I could once again use the advice of you veterans!

Here's my story....we bought a BWV resale in Oct. It came with 150 banked 2003 points and 42 borrowed 2005 points. These all have to be used by 9/30/05. We already went to Disney in Nov. (couldn't use the points, as nothing was available for our timeframe). Since DS(5) had already missed 4 days of school (he is in kindergarten), we figured we would use the points this summer. We were planning on BWV 6/26-7/1 and HHI 7/31-8/5. However, while we love to sit at the beach in the summer, we aren't really summer people. So, the more I read about the heat in June/July the more scared I get.

Other important info

DH and DS are HUGE Star Wars fans
DH turns 40 on 5/26 (Thursday before Memorial Day)

So, I got this brainstorm. Why not go down the Friday before Memorial Day after DS gets out of school. We could stay at the AllStars on Fri and Sat. Move to BWV on Sunday. DS has off on Monday. He would then miss four more days, but this could be the last time he can miss school for Disney (we will usually travel during NJ Week). I called MS and was able to reserve a studio for the dates I was looking for, but I held on to my June dates for now.

So, my question is when would you go? Would you stick with the original dates and suck up the heat or would you go during Memorial Day week and enjoy Star Wars weekend? I thought I could keep it a secret from DH and surprise him on his birthday.

Thanks so much, once again, for all your help!

You really are the best group of people!!!!!!!!!!!!! :grouphug:

DH and I are originally southerners, he is from Florida and I am from Louisiana, so the summer heat does not bother us as much as a lot of folks, however, if you guys really hate the heat I can see why you would be worried about summer. The heat and humidity can be brutal down there. Also, while I am usually very vocal about "do not take your kids out of school for vacation" We did do it once when ours were much younger (the older 2 were 1st and 3rd grade.) I really don't think missing 4 days in first grade will be a big deal for your son, especially since you don't plan on doing it on a regular basis. Also, my DH is a big Star Wars freak and would love to go down on SW weekends too. So, if you really want to change your plans, I say "go for it!" Have fun planning and let us know what you decide :D Lacee

We love to go in May! We've been to the Star Wars Weekends a few times and I say GO FOR IT! It's a blast. We saw some really cool characters last time too.
Have fun!

May Sounds like a nice surprise for you dh 40th b'day.

don't sweat taking 5 yr old out of school. Usually during school sessions, travel is cheaper and vaca spots less crowded.

We've done this for years, my middle is a jr in HS andyoungest 8th grade, both took 5 days off in dec. I figure as long as the keep a b/a average we can continue to do this. This was a GREAT Way to spend time togather (andat their age, i'm sure spending time with mom & dad is going to be few and far between) and the cost of going during peak season would not allow us to experience this.

Have a great time

Thank you all for your positive responses. I was having a hard time getting motivated planning for June, but I am already working out our May itinerary!!!
I even switched my countdown timer!!!

Thanks again!!!

:3dglasses I'm a geek and would go for Star Wars Weekends anytime!!!

However, we often vacation at the beach during June and it is a wonderful time. The wind factor off the water really helps to do away with the heat. But, if you are not the kind to want to sit under a tarp and play at the beach all day, then I wouldn't go in the hotter months. Obviously, if you leave the beach and head inland to find things to do, it will be stiffling again.
