This was the question that was asked of me by a co-worker. I didn't even have to think twice when I answered "when my body says enough." This is really the thruth. I of course have my goal (which I am 25 pounds from) and that is 15 pounds over what the height weight charts say but in truth, I am going to continue to do what I am doing with eating right and exercising, working in weight training and hope that my body will continue to do what I want of it.

So this is the question that I ask of you my fellow WISH'ers. When will you "stop?"

I would never stop living the life I am right now with eating right and exercising so, unless my body fails me, I guess my answer would be when I am dead!!! :rotfl: As a parent, my goal is to be healthy as an example to my children on the way to live...full of life! :goodvibes

when i was at 120 doctor told me to stop loosing weight
I stayed at 120 for about 4 yrs
this past year im about 125

I get the same question almost daily from coworkers and from pharmaceutical reps who come into my office. Occasionally, even one of my patients will ask me if they have seen me for a long time and are particularly close. Some people have known me long enough to know that I haven't always been overweight. I gained about 60 lbs after my son was born. He is 9 now, so, about 9-10 years ago, I weighed about 115-120 lbs, which is my goal range now. I am able to maintain that weight, generally. After my son was born, I quit exercising and stopped being quite so careful with my diet, mainly because he was so picky, and I didn't want to routinely prepare more than one meal. So, I took the easy way out of eating food that was really too high calorie and fatty, like hot dogs, chicken nuggets, etc. Now, he is old enough to eat a variety of foods, and he knows I am not going to make something different for him. Sometimes, I will make some that is less spicy for him, but, he basically eats the same as we do. This has allowed me to be more successful this time (I have tried many times over the last 9 years to lose weight, and not to regain it, but didn't have long term success).

It is amusing that one of my coworkers made the comment that soon I would be getting Ashley's cast offs for clothes. This is funny to me because when I joined the practice, 15 years ago, she was one of our patients. She is now 24 years old. I don't think that really a 50 year old doctor should be dressing like a 24 yo. But, they are right--we probably wear close to the same size, and surely will when I reach my goal.

This is a great question and one that I, too, get asked a lot. I lost around 90 lbs between December 2005 and December 2006. While I've done an outstanding job of maintaining this year, I have around 60 lbs to go. I don't really have a goal weight in mind, and I doubt I'll ever see the number the charts say is right. However, I believe that with healthy eating and exercise I will find the right balance, and I already know that I can maintain like nobody's business! :rotfl:

I just have to focus on smaller portions to get the final weight off. I think my body adjusted to my new size and I haven't mastered reducing the amount of food I feed it! But, I'm on my way!

Congratulations to all of you and your fantastic weight losses.:cool1:

I've lost 40 pounds, and would like to lose another 20 which will put me at 10 pounds above the top of the WW goal range, or 165. I'm 5'6", and I remember weighing around 170 about 10 years ago, and being very active and feeling great. It's taking a while, up and down with a few pounds, but my long term goal is to never yo-yo diet again.

Never, I will have to keep eating better and exercising or I will be back to my old self. This is a Life change that I Need to keep it up for my health.:goodvibes
