When will my magic bands arrive?

We have a week booked in July. We ordered our magic bands today through the MDE app. Email confirmation says they will arrive 10 days before our vacation. Since we purchased them does it still really take that long? Or will they go ahead and process the order and ship them?

I got one that I ordered for a Dec trip in about a week.

They normally ship soon after the order is placed.

Their e-mail communication on purchased MBs is all sorts of messed up/misleading these days. Don't worry, it's totally confusing.

But generally speaking most reports are purchased MBs are being shipped shortly after you order. I also bought MBs for a summer stay two weeks ago and that same note is on my confirmation e-mail. They arrived last week.

I ordered bands for our June trip about two weeks ago. I received them the end of last week.

Quick question, are Magic Bands even necessary anymore?

I’m wondering what their value is if I’m going to the parks in a few weeks under current (virus) conditions. No FastPass, not as a room key, etc. Do we need them?

If you are staying onsite they are your room key and you can charge to your room with them, which is enough to be worth it for me. If staying off site, you can still use them to get in the parks and for pictures.

I also like having them when we go to the pool instead of carrying key cards around.

They are much more convenient than key cards.
