Just wondering when will my 2022 Use Year Points be removed from my account for the Magical Beginnings offer?
I also had a guide hold made and they used some of the 2022 use year points for that reservation. Will that make a difference? Or will the the points for that reservation just be taken from 2023 instead once the 2022 points are taken back?

If the 2022 points were used for a trip, it may impact the situation.

They are not going to assume you want to borrow 2023 points, which is what needs to happen to keep the current reservation.

I’d reach out to the guide to find out what and how it works since the points you are selling back were used.

It is very possible that when they went to take them and saw you used them that you had changed your mind about selling them back.

It took almost 2 weeks for them to be removed from my account. After a week, I had reached out to my guide and he was also surprised at the delay. He followed up separately to get it done, since I was too nervous to book anything with my shiny new contract until then.

If you want to use MB with 2022 points you should leave those untouched (you can borrow 2023 points on your own to make that same reservation - just cancel and rebook soon thereafter). Otherwise, as mentioned previously, they may not interpret your intent properly and maybe think you changed your mind about doing it? Moreover, the MB form specifically states it's for "initial/first" use year, so they definitely won't take your 2023 points instead.

The points are made available when the contract is generated. In our case (March UY) I used the 2024 points that same day for a reservation in Spring 2024 but didn't touch the 2023 points and they were gone they next day with a "Manual Adjustment" note. With our earlier purchase it took 2 days for the points to be gone. In both cases, the checks arrived 5-6 days after the deed was recorded.

If you cancel the reservation, you may also want to contact the Quality Assurance dept (800-782-6767) and tell them what happened and reiterate your interest in MB. I would even consider not allowing the contract pass escrow if they don't deduct the 2022 points before then, which to me is a good indication (and paper trail) that they intend to send the check after closing. Right now what you have a paper trail saying that you want to use 2022 points yourself.
