Well, since they unceremoniously ruined my May trip by cancelling SWW, we will try to make it a F&G trip instead. But here it is only 4 months from March and no word on the dates for F&G. Anyone know when they typically announce those dates? We are booked at BWV from May 12-15, and may keep those dates if it will encompass the final weekend of the event as I had hoped it would...or we can attempt to move to a different date.

As long as I'm asking, haven't been in May in 20 years, so how is the weather and crowds? I assume May is better to go than March or April due to Spring Break?

Per the Disney web site: The Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival is an annual spring event taking place from March 2 to May 15, 2016 at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida.

Thanks! I checked the wdwinfo and only saw last year's info. I rarely check the official Disney page as it is so often wrong...like now...still has the SWW coming soon page up! I guess we'll keep the trip for now.

I think mid to late April is better this year as Spring Breaks will fall in March. April is cooler by a bit, then May.

Well, seeing as the info just came out I'm sure they'll get that changed. Plus, that never has had exact dates where the F&G page does.
Though don't get me wrong, the Disney website is full of errors. But I don't believe the dates for F&G are one of them.

We were there for the last days of F&G in May because it overlapped with SWW - a lot of the flowers were looking brown and wilted or just weren't in bloom anymore. If seeing pretty flowers is important to you, I'd go earlier in the season. Crowds weren't too bad, though!

Actually, we are only interested in the FOOD at F&G!

Yeah, i've licked my wounds over SWW. We DID score room wise with our DVC...a garden view studio at BWV (at 7 months no less!). So we will focus on Epcot that trip, which is our favorite anyway. If they decide to do the SW fireworks on the weekends again maybe we will do that in the evening.

We found the weather very enjoyable and crowds to be manageable when we went the first 2 weeks of May.
