When will BCV sell out?

My appologies, as these questions probably gets asked fairly often.

Are any use years sold out or close to selling out? If so which ones and what %?

When does Disney anticipate selling out BCV? Last Aug I had heard they anticipated selling out this spring.

I don't think that it is going all that quickly. I wouldn't be all that surprised if it were still selling in December.

I just added on more points at BCV this week and I asked about the August use year. I was told there were 2600 August use year points left. (I was still able to do MB with my 2002 points too which was nice.)

I'm guessing it sells out Christmas time. I was shocked to see that many August use year points left. (They are not "selling" August per se now to new members...these points will basically be used for add ons unless a new member really wants August.)

If they do what they previously did with VWL then they will keep a chunk of points available only for add ons (16000 I think)

Just an FYI, I spoke with Judy Kauffman a couple of weeks ago and she stated that they were anticipating on selling out BCV and remaining VWL points by the end of Summer. They were offering December UY at that point as well.

Just wanted to throw that in there.

Your post raises another question;

Are there peaks and valleys for their sales. In other words, do they have higher sales during the school breaks and summer vacations and slower times like now?

If they are currently offering December as the use year... when will I be able get a March or April use year? my guess is July/August... am I close?

I figure if that's when they offer Mar/Apr use years and there is availability I might as well hang on to my money until then.

With no trips planned in late summer or fall, is my logic flawed?

If you live in California, the December use year is already sold out.

actually, i believe you can buy a March or April use year contract now, if you ask for it.
if you wanted to do Magical Beginnings w/ a Mar or Apr UY, then you would be selling back your 3/03 or 4/03 points, respectively.

Disney will probably actively market Mar UY during the month of August. and Apr UY during the month of Sept.

but, if you want to buy the points ahead of time (just in case they really are about to sell out), you should call your guide.

actually, i think i heard that you can request for your Guide to call you as soon as he/she finds out that your Use Year is about to sell out.

I agree with disneyberry. They will probably be actively marketing March UY in August based on my experience from last year. I bought in August of '02 and I ended up with a March UY, so consequently I would think that the same would hold true. You might be seeing them offering March as early as July.

You can buy a March or April now, but you might be in a weird situation with banking/borrowing points.

For instance we are going next month and I hope to buy into DVC then - could I request a UY of April or May or am I just assigned a UY based upon availability? Also, another dumb question - if I join next month and get a month of say April, do I immediately get points (assuming I don't do MB, which I probably won't) from this year's April or do I have to wait until next year's April before I get any points? This is kind of important to me as I have an immediate need for points for this year.

You can request a UY, and you should get it if they have availability.
If you use MB and sell back your current UY points, then you will get your next set of points next April. If you don't use MB, you get current UY points right away. (Even if you use MB, you could borrow points from next year. ) I purchased a new contract for BWV on a Thursday and was allowed to book ressies on the following Monday--so, that is one of the perks going through Disney.

I just got off the phone with my guide and the February Use Year for BCV has 672 points left. I am seriously considering a 100 point add on and she said I should probably do it this week and the sooner the better. Now to get DH to agree!!

I was just at BCV this week (5/18-5/22) and was told by a few people that BCV is 80--85% sold.

My guide also told me they are anticipating BCV to be sold out by the end of the summer.

I think they will sell out soon. With all the activity around the BWV points add-ons I think it stirred up a lot of BCV activity as well. We're a perfect example. We thought about but buying a resale add-on at BCV after our stay at the Yacht Club last year (on holding points). But we didn't and believe it or not actually forgot about it until our guide called us about BWV. We were on the waitlist for add-on points. So we spent a few days thinking about it and ultimately bought only a few more points at BW, but bought 200 at BCV with the same Dec use year.

And for Wolfpackfan....we agreed to the sale over the phone and before our papers even reached us by FEDX the points were available in my account. We still haven't closed yet, but I have a July trip to BCV all done and 6 of 7 days BWV done for our April '04 trip over Easter. And when I didn't have enough points prior to the sale for that 7th day and needed to borrow a few new points from '04 (We did Magical Beginnings) the CM got permission to hold the room for us until we close the 2nd week in June. I was so thrilled that they were so flexible about the ressies. We're so happy we added on.

I'd be willing to bet Beach Club is gone in July or August. They'll do everything they can to get it sold so they can move on to start selling Saratoga Springs (SSR). Just my humble opinion.

I am not exactly sure what that means they are going to do next?

I was talking to a guide at BWV. I asked her about future pricing, she said that the price was going to go up to $89.00 in a couple of months. She may have been trying to drum up sales right now.
