When/Where do you show your ID's

I'm a first time cruiser, so forgive my question.

When and where (and how often) do you have to show your BirthCertificate and Driver's License?

Do you have to carry these ID's with you when you go off ship?

You need proof of citizenship (birth cert. or passport) when checking in before boarding the ship, and when leaving at the end of the cruise. You'll also need it if you're on the eastern 7-day on the morning you call at St. Thomas.

You need photo ID and your room key to get on and off the ship while in port. You can leave the passport/b.c. locked in the safe during port calls, but must carry your driver's license with you.

HI, Welcome to the Dis board.

When you check in at the terminal, you will need to show your birth certificate/passports and drivers license for everyone over the age 18. For guest under the age of 18, birth certificate/passport and if they are in school and have a photo id, show that.

You will need your Key to the World Card and drivers license/or photo id to get off and on the ship at each port.

Yes you have to carry your ID with you......You have to show it with your Key to the world card when gettting off the ship and getting back on. Except children of course .........they just need their KTTW card.......For Birth Cert...you only need them when checking in. If you are going on the Eastern Caribbean 7 night cruise you will need them for St. Thomas also.

This was my main reason for choosing the Western, I did not want to have to get my daughter and myself up and report at 7am LOL!
