when well it all be finished?

just wondering if anyone know approx. when all the construction at Ak will be finished.

we're hoping for an April 2009 trip and it would be nice if it was all done by then.

According to the member website, Kidani is supposed to open in phases in 2009. That being said, some members report that, when they made reservations for next December (2008), they were told that there might be Kidani rooms available at that time -- they should call again in the fall to see if their room reservations could be switched.

The way construction has been moving along, it is not unreasonable to think that Kidani's first phase COULD be open by next December. However, any construction can be adversly affected by unforseen conditions: a couple of hurricanes coming through during the season could suddenly put things back by weeks or even months. So, at this point, we just have to wait and see!

I doubt it will be finished by then. The new building has a segmented design so that they can slowly open units as the points are needed for sales.

At the current pace, they should be selling AKV at least thru 2010--perhaps much longer than that depending upon the sales impact of other resorts. I can't see them opening the whole resort by early-2009 if many of those units won't be sold to members for another 2 years.
