We are flying in the day before and staying at the Radisson at the Port, which is just a few minutes from Port Canaveral. I've heard a lot of good reports about this hotel, and they have a free shuttle service from the hotel to the port. Here's a link to their web site: http://www.radisson.com/capecanaveralfl/

If you're flying in later at night, you might want to stay at the Hyatt right there inside the Orlando Airport. Here's their web site:

Personally I like the idea of waking up on the morning of the cruise and knowing we're so close to the ship :sunny: But again, it might depend on what time your flight arrives at MCO.

My choice is to stay at the Port instead of near MCO. I just feel better knowing I am that close to the ship in case something were to go wrong the next day. We fly in at 10pm the night before but I am still going to stay at Radisson at the Port...I prefer to drive that night and just get up and go board in the morning. I have stayed there before and it was very nice, just make sure you sign up for the shuttle when you check in, or even when you make your reservation if they will let you.

Thanks alot for the info!! Radisson at the Port is it!! I'll contact them thru seasprays site....:bounce:

Howearly can we board the ship?

Personally, we prefer to stay near MCO and get a good night's sleep before heading to Port Canaveral. We use Priceline and bid for the highest star level, and we typically end up with the Marriott for $25 to $28. We take their free shuttle and then have Happy Limo pick us up in the morning to head over to the port. That way, if we're on a late flight or an early one that is delayed, we don't have that port trip ahead of us the night before.

It might depend on how far you are coming and the ages of those in your party! We will be flying in from CA on a flight that's not direct, and our sons will be 9 and not quite 6. There's no way on earth I'd choose to put them into a vehicle to drive for another hour after all that  And, in fact, I have hip problems, so I don't think I'd be too keen on it for myself. But for those who don't fly as far, or who have calmer kids, or more physical stamina, I can see more easily finishing the trip to the port that evening.
