When was your house built?

The 1920's.Apparently the owners had a meat market in the next town fromthe 20'- 40s because when we first mived in we found and old box with all of their records ..The slips would say Mrs So and so, list what she got and then give the total and dates like May 12 1927 etc.

Our house was built in 1904, there was an addition put on in the 50's. The previous owners had a visit from a woman who grew up in the house and she drew a diagram of where all the old rooms were and what they were used for. We really like the character but I miss some things like central air and fold-down windows!

We are trying to restore a house built in 1908. What a challenge and nightmare at the same time. Very hard to find replacement parts like hinges for built in cabinets and door parts, even door sizes are different than standard doors now. Everything has to be custom made. Very expensive.

What were we thinking......

Ours was built in 1946.

Our UK home was built in 1780 whilst our Florida home was built in 2002. The contrast in construction methodology and style (not to mention clutter) is wonderful.

WE were givrn 2 dates, one is 1789 the oterh which is recorded on our property taxes is 1800
