I was wondering if anyone knows when Future World first allowed WDW guests into the park. I really think it was before EPCOT officially opened but I can't seem to find the year. Thanks

That's correct - Epcot celebrated its 25th anniversary on October 1st (and I was there!).

So, doing the math, the official opening date was October 1, 1982. That doesn't address your question about whether FW allowed guests into the park before the official opening, i.e. a "soft" opening. I wouldn't be surprised, but I don't have any data on that.
