and you have cut your letters out, ready to place them on your page, what type of adhesive do you use? Sounds stupid to think of it now, but I have always used sticky letters, or my CM tape runner, and neither can work here. Wished I had thought of this before. Tried using a Q-tip with a dab of paper glue (the safe kind) but thought it was messy.
Love my Cricut, and once this is resolved, it will be so much easier from start to finish. Thanks. Caroline

For letters from my craftrobo I use my Xyron 250 sticker maker.

Zig 2 way glue pen works the best. Tweezers is a must. I also run some stuff through my Xuron X.

Wow, you are both fast and I appreciate your answers to my dilemna. Will need to get to my craft store in the am and get a Zig 2 way pen. Since I just invested in the Cricut 2 weeks ago, buying another "fun" tool is not an option right now.
BTW - can the Xyron be used for bulletin board letters too? Would be so much easier than making new ones every time a new board goes up? Do they come in wider widths for 4 in letters? Thank you so much. Caroline

Depending on the size of the font, but I mostly use either the CM mini runner or the Cm liquid adhesive.

I use the little X xyron sticker maker, with a J's coupon it's around $4. For bulletin board letters you can use a xyron 500, 510 or the biggie 900. I have used the laminating carts with my 850 which I really like and the magnetic/laminating wich I don't like at all as they didn't stay together.

I use the Xyron 500 and it can fit pieces up to 5 inches. I just bought a Zig 2 way pen today to use with the Disney cart for some of the really tiny pieces!!

Another Xyron X user here. Things can be a bit sticky, so be sure to rub around the edges of your pieces to cut down (notice I didn't say completely eliminate) on the sticky. I use my stylus to trace around each piece, and taking that step has helped.

Glue pens are good too. I need to get one of those Zig brand glue pens you guys seem to like. I didn't know which one to get. Even the fine tip on the one I have can be a bit too much too quickly.

Both of these sound like much better optinos than the acid-free glue stick I have been getting all over my fingers while gluing my letters down!:rotfl: Thanks for sharing!

(And OP: thanks for asking!)

I also use my zyron sticker maker, I'm having trouble with the Disney Mickey and Friends cartridge, what type of adhesive to use with the really tiny pieces. I do love that cartridge though, it does so many things!

i love it too, for the really small pieces, eyes, collars etc, i use a CM glue pen, but i hear there is a really good one available at LSS, not sure of the name, The letters i use the Xyron,

Ok, after reading all your advice, and realizing I still had a QVC giftcard, I got the Xyron 250...so it cost me a whopping $.95.
I do appreciate everyone's responses, I learned and continue to learn a lot. Another "mindless" question - what does the acronym LSS mean? Local Scrap Store? I could come up with endless meanings, but you know the answer, so why wait!:thumbsup2 Thanks again. Caroline

I mostly just use my Zig fine tip glue pen. It works very well and it dries quickly. I use my tweezers to actually place the pieces.

I would probably use my Xyron X but I can't find the permanent cartridges for it and the repositionable type doesn't work for most scrapbook stuff.

You were right! LSS=Local Scrapbook Store. Good job! :thumbsup2

Wow, after all the advice you gave me, I went and bought the glue pen with the chisel tip today - can i say i scrapped with my cricut and had the most wonderful, easy time getting the letters on my pages!! Thanks for the suggestions, and hope I can help you all out some one of these days.:thumbsup2

Just a thought...even with using my embossing tool to run around the edges of letters put through my Xyron I still occasionally have excess adhesive. Sometimes you can't even see it, but the piece feels tacky. I use the CM "Pick-up Square" to kind of blot around the tacky edges & that takes it right up. The best $2 I ever spent! ;)

Correct. Local scrapbook store.

I use Xyron X or the Zig - I have a chisel point and a fine tip. I stay way from the kind that you have to squeeze while you are using it. I am hoping there is a Ms coupon tomorrow so I can get another one.

I've never used the repositionable type, so, this may be a stupid question, but why doesn't this work for most scrapbooking stuff? The reason I'm asking is because I have a Xyron 500 but I got an impulse idea to make bookmarks (using the animal kingdom cart) as a little end of year present for my sons 1st grade class. So..... I decided to run out Saturday and get the 510 so I could laminate them. I am giving a friend my 500, which has a brand new permant cartridge in it and a NIB repositionable one (which, to be quite honest, I picked up by mistake last week at ACM's sale). If the repositionable one isn't good for scrapping, then I'll see if I can exchange it before I give it to her!

Thanks!
