If you are planning to rope drop a given park, let's say 9:00 for this particular day, what time would you wake up to allow time for..

-showering
-changing
-food court bfast
-bus
-security

My guess is that 6:30 am should be plenty of time? Pretty new to the timing of things

6:30 sounds good, food courts are very crowded most mornings, the earliest you get there the better, we do get up at 6:30 and give the kids some granola bars and hop to the park and hit some premium ride and afterwards do breakfast at the park counter service that are pretty empty.

That's a great idea, perhaps we should pack some quick snacks to hold us over until we find a QS in the park! Thanks!!

Breakfast in the rooms really helps to speed up getting ready in the mornings, while one person is showering, others can be eating a simple breakfast. We will do a grocery delivery with yogurts, fruit, bagels, cream cheese, etc.. It makes getting out the door a lot faster. My husband will usually grab something once we are inthe parks a little bit later. It can get a bit hectic in the food courts in the mornings. As long as I have coffee I will be fine!

We just got back. We ate a quick snack in the room to hold us over til lunch or something quick in the parks. I ordered water, breakfast snacks, etc from Amazon prime now, which worked out awesomely. We arrived for the bus around 8 each day and made it to the parks with plenty of time. I set my alarm for 7 every day.

I don't have to be at the front of the pack, I usually just travel with 1 other person, so my normal morning, even when traveling with 3 other women, is get up, I take a bath at night and wash my hair before going out at night/before dinner/after mid day break and I always make sure my clothes are already pressed and hanging up, so I do sunscreen and throw on my clothes, run to grab coffees and a collection of fruit, a yogurt whatever, some pastries and then back to the room where the others are getting ready. I eat/drink espresso, do makeup and brush my teeth. Sometimes I'll make mimosas to go (because its vacation and I'm like that). Takes about 30 minutes total in the Swolphin, or YC. I just get stuff from the coffee cafe places. If I wake up late, I'll get an Uber or towncar to get to MK/AK sooner, I know the walk to Epcot or DHS is no more than 20 minutes, if that, so that makes the morning equation easier. 6:30 would be a TON of time for me, but that does not account for children. I think it also depends on if you need a hot breakfast to sit down at, and where you're staying, but regardless, 6:30 is a lot of time, you'll be fine!

I think it'll depend a lot how long it generally takes you to get ready in that am. Make-up/hair to do? If not, then you're probably good on 630, otherwise I would think a little earlier to include breakfast.

IF we are doing RD for a park we need to bus to then we plan on being at the stop no later than an hour before it opens. This would include EMH. I try and encourage the kids to shower in the evening and if I shower its 10 min tops and maybe 10 mins to get ready. I'm super low maintenance. We either eat breakfast in the room (last time we picked up a dz bagels at Panera) or in the CL lounge. Either DH or I grab drinks to have while we're getting ready and we can ask kids if they want to come eat in the lounge or us to bring stuff back for them. Traveling with teens is so different than when they were babies and I'm not sure how many RDs they will actually make next time! LOL One of us is ALWAYS up earlier than everyone else so this works out well.

I value my sleep more than sitting down for a long breakfast, we ususally sleep a little longer and have snacks for bkfst in our room! I would at least get in line for a bus by 7:45, especially if you're wanting to run to a specific attraction! From there you can figure out about how much time you take to shower and get ready, including food.

Depends on so much... for my family (myself, my husband, 6 year old and 5 year old), my husband and I would get up 6-6:15ish for a 9am opening....and we didn't stop for breakfast (we packed foods to eat on the go)! For us, we got ourselves ready (which included my husband grabbing coffee, and applying our sunscreen), then we woke my girls around 7 or just before to get them dressed and ready. The needed a few minutes to lay around, then it always seemed to take a while to get their hair done (I use product on them in disney to keep hair out of their faces...just do a ponytail), and apply all their sunscreen! For a 9:00 opening we were generally at the bus stop around 7:45ish.

I would get up at 6 because I don't like being rushed. Pack granola bars, bananas, and maybe those yogurt pouch things for the kids and you should be good to go for a few hours! We like having a late breakfast or early lunch after doing that.

I also shower and wash my hair the night before for two reasons - first, it lets me sleep in longer in the morning. Most importantly, it allows me to wash all the sunscreen and park "grime" off before going to bed. We don't eat breakfast unless we have a TS breakfast scheduled, in which case we aren't worried about RD. Most days we schedule a lunch ADR for 11:00 or 11:30 instead of eating breakfast.

I work back wards

how long will it take for the bus to get to MK ( or driving) then give some extra time

so from POP to MK I give 20 minutes plus 20 for it I just miss, about 10 ( and I hardly ever need this) for security so I like to be at the bus stop an hour before I want to be in the park.

I know it take s me 20 minutes to shower and dress, 10 minutes to do other thing ( make sure I have what I need.) I bring my how food. so I eat on the way.

but I would be at the buss stop 45-60 minutes before you will like to be at the park then decide how long you need to do the other things

To make rope drop at 9, my preference is to be at the parks by 8:15 at the latest. Like @gap2368 , I like to allow about an 45-60 mins to get to a park.So bus stop by 7:15.

We take 30 mins to eat in the food court. So food court by 6:45.

It also takes my family about 45-60 mins from wake up to get out the door. So wake up by 5:45/6am.

Yes, its early. Worth it to us though!

We pull early mornings and late nights... alarm is at 7:30 and we are out the door by 7:45/7:50 for an 8AM bus. MK gets an extra few minutes early. We shower and lay out next day's clothes at midday break/nap. If we get gross in the evening (sweat, humidity, Splash Mountain) we will of course shower again. But usually we go back late enough that we're clean(ish) and are okay with the midday schedule.

I usually get up at 6am. I like to go to the food court to get coffee first.
It takes me about 1 hr and 15 mins to get ready in the morning. (shower, dress, hair, makeup)
If I don't have an early morning breakfast ADR, I am at the bus by 7:45 for 9am park opening times.

For this upcoming Pandora passholder preview trip I am staying off property because the values are all booked.
I have a breakfast ADR every morning since I won't be able to go to a food court. So I will have to adjust my wake up times.

I wake up at 5:15 every day at home, so I typically do the same at WDW. Our past few trips to WDW have been in December during 8:00 park opening days, so our schedule looks like this:

5:15 am - I wake up. I like to drink coffee and enjoy "me time" before I wake up DD, so I usually go to the food court at our hotel to get a cup of coffee and read the news.

5:45 - 6 am - DH and DD wake up at the same time (same schedule as at home).

6:30-6:45 am - Head out of room to breakfast at food court (or eat breakfast in room).

7:15 am - At bus stop to head to park.

We are actually looking forward to later park openings during our next trip...9:00 park openings will make us feel like we are "sleeping in"!
