We will be at WDW the last week of September (9/23 -10/1). F&W starts the 29th. We do want to go for the F&W festival on the 30th, but I am wondering if we should plan to do WS twice that week. Once before F&W starts and once during. We will have time to go twice.

I have never visited during F&W and am wondering how crowded it is, not only with people but with all the extra booths. Are we going to miss seeing alot of the ordinary things when it is all set up for F&W?

My sister and I have been once to the Food and Wine Festival and we loved it...all the different samples :p ...but, we go to Disney "a few" times a year...We did go to Epcot twice during that trip...to try some more "samples" and to ride some rides we had missed....We have seen the countries several times...so not seeing them wasn't as much of an issue.....We are taking my granddaughter (her first time at the Food and Wine Festival) and plan to take in Epcot twice, too.....If you go early in the morning...to ride the rides...and over to the countries to "sample"...and don't worry about visiting every single country..You could do it in one day....if you wanted to...It was crowded...but, not so much that it was unbearable...Frankly, having the smaller portions at a slower pace was great for us...My 13 year old granddaughter is looking forward to that idea, too... :thumbsup2

Being that it is the first weekend of F & W, it may be a little more crowded but usuually more of the crowds center around the entertainment and festival booths. I haven't found that the movies are more crowded.

Go Monday thru Thursday if you can to avoid the local crowds. The food booths open up at 11:30 around World Showcase. I would suggest getting there as early as possible. The crowds tend to build throughout the day.

During the week, it's fine. You'd only notice a crowd on weekends. We went last year on a Wednesday and it was fantastic! :)

HI Michelle;
My DS11 and myself will be at WDW Sept. 27 to Oct. 4. Seeing that F&W opens on the Friday, we plan to avoid Epcot that day and Sat. & Sun. However we plan on going to Epcot on Thursday, the day before F&W. Someone else posted that some of the booths may be open later that day for trial runs. We will then go again on the next Monday or Tues, but you will have already left WDW :sad1: by then. We were at F&W on our last trip in Nov. 2001, but crowds were way down as we remember 5 years ago. :sad1: There really wasn't that much of interest for my sons at that time DS6 and DS9. We have DDP this trip and I expect we won't have a lot of room to sample MORE food. However, we may spend a few snack credits to try out the cheese soup, etc.
