When to visit June thru August???

We can go anytime from Late June thru the end of August. We were thinking of the last week of August to miss the heavier crowds but with the deals that are out now we are wondering if we should brave the crowds and go earlier. Any thoughts? Thanks...

We generally go at the very end of August as we like the lower crowds. However, I could not pass up the pay for 4 get 3 free deal. We are now going during the first 2 weeks of August.

Somebody in your family must be a teacher? I am too. We will be going August 23-29 at POR. We went in 07 the last week of June, it was awful. DH swore never again in the summer, or school vacation, but I got the free dining pin and convinced him. We're hoping for lower crowds. I think the heat is manageable if the crowds aren't too bad.

I am going the end of August/first week sept. Free dining is a better offer for us than the 4/3 deal.

Does anyone know what the crowds are like the 3rd week of August? We usually go the 2nd week of June but we couldn't pass up the free dining pin and will be at WDW this year Aug. 17-22.

Is this considered the last week of the big summer crowds or the first week of the lower after summer crowd?

We get an annual pass each year and switch off between the last two weeks of August and the first two weeks the following year. This way we get 2 visits from only one pass. The last two weeks are the best time to tour. BUT,,,,if they are offering Free Dining.....beware of restaurants being crowded.

Enjoy your trip....we are going last week of July and 1st week of August this year, due to Middle School Sports.

Crowds will be much lighter the third week of August when compared to June, July and early August. The local schools will likely be back in session that week as well.

Here in NY we do not return to school (another teacher here) until September 7th...that is really late this year.

Glad to hear that the crowds will be lower the 3rd week of August. I plan to be ready with those ADRs at 90 days and hope for the best!

We went last year during the last week of August. I don't think the heat was too bad. But my sister thought it was awful for her 5 year old girl. She has very sensitive skin and could not tolerate that much sun and sweat on her neck.

We are returning this year same time without them. To me, the down side of that time frame is the possibility of hurricane. We were pretty lucky last year. We got sandwiched between two. Either one was really bad. But we did have full one day of rain.

I'm also looking at the last week in August. We were originally thinking of early December, as I'd love to see the Christmas decorations, but it's getting harder to have the kids miss school.

I'm very concerned about the heat, though. We were there in May one year (over Mother's Day) and it was very warm - mid 90s and humid - all the kids wanted to do was swim! I would imagine it's even worse in August
