When to upgrade to AP

Hi All,

I had a package (room + tickets). I've decided to get an AP and so I called to switch to a room only reservation. I told the CSM why I was changing. She said there should be an AP discount on the room but I wouldn't get it until the AP is activated.

My plan was to purchase tickets through my husband's company and use those tickets to bridge to an AP. But I wouldn't do that until the first day at the park? Can that be done when I check in to the resort? It's not a big deal if I can't get an AP discount on the room, but if it's available, I'd like to figure out how to get it.

You have to go to guest services or a ticket counter at a park and or Disney Springs

Have you already purchased the AP? If it's already been purchased (but not yet activated), you can get the passholder discount. I did it for our upcoming trip. Call back and hopefully you'll get a more helpful CM this time (don't you love calling Disney?).

I'm not sure how it works if you have not yet purchased the AP.
