When to Purchase AP for FP planning

Not sure if this is the right board.. but...

I have a trip planned for August and November, so its best for us to get Annual Passes.. When should I purchase the passes? they activate the 1-year countdown on your first entry right? I also want to link them to our magic bands so we can start doing FastPass+ plans and ADR's

I also heard rumor of a special promotion coming for DVC members.. will they further discount the AP ?? or give a free or discounted dining plan?

I cannot give you any info on future promotions, but I can say that in recent years price increases have occurred in early June, as I recall.

Since APs aren't active until the day they are first used (for the vast majority of guests), then I would suggest purchasing them before that anticipated price increase.

DVC Members have gotten a discount in the past. I would assume they would keep this discount.
