When to post request for renting points?

Sorry if this has been asked. How far in advance should I post a thread requesting to rent points? We're not sure when we can go again but it could be May of 09 (unless a miracle happens). Should I start a post May 08. This would be 12 months out to get all the details taken care of w/the potential renter so everything is allset. Not sure when to start this adventure. Thanks for any info.

If it matters - we have a family of 5 so we would need a 2 bedroom preferably at BCV or WLV.

Yes, a year out would be the time to be inquiring.

Jumping in:

If we want to stay in 1 BR at BWV Halloween week next year, should we request a reservation now? Since it is F&W Fest it will fill up fast already correct?

I'm just undecided on how many days to go for at this point. But don't want to miss out.

My feeling is a little different on this. The time to ask for points is the point in time you are certain what it is you need. Someone with points to rent will want cash to hold them. I know I wouldn't want to be bothered with someone who doesnt know what they want....unless they are willing to pay for the points regardless of what they need.

If we rented the points we would go, it's more of a matter of when I need to get DH to commit.

And if he can't commit now, how much of a chance would we be able to get a reservation Halloween week later on? Everyone says BCV and BWV fill up quickly for F&W, but what exactly is quickly? A day, week? a couple of months?

For your May planning, you probably have time - even 7 months would likely work. For Halloween week, they absolutely will fill up fast. We always go to BWV in October, usually reserving at about the 10th month out for a Boardwalk view. For Halloween week itself, you probably have even less flexibility, although if you don't need a Boardwalk or Standard view, you've probably got a couple of weeks. Be aware that you have locals that will reserve at BWV or BCV just because they don't want to drive home after F&W events - makes it that much busier.
