When to go?

DH and I have decided to take our DS(4) to WDW this year. We cannot decide when to go. First I will say that we are taking both of our DS's in Sept of 2009 (hopefully will get free dining) and with this trip we will be getting annual passes.

We have narrowed it down to Sept (free dining again?) or Dec (first week). We thought about Oct but we were there a couple of years ago for MNSSHP and found the parks very busy.

If we would go in Sept we would have to plan so we can use our annual passes next year plus DH wants it to be warm enough to swim. But I have never been to WDW in Dec and would like to see the Christmas decorations.

What would you do??

The first week of December is a great week. Weather can vary, obviously, but it is usually warm enough to swim. ALthough we have had times when we needed jackets. The Holiday decorations are up and they are beautiful! ALso, they have the Mickeys very Merry Christmas Party, which is alot of fun too. The crowds are low, which is also nice. If you have never been at Christmas time I suggest you try to do this week.

As for September, the weather will still be very hot and humid. It is hurricane season, which is why they offer the free dining, so they can get people to come during the low season. I found that September was fairly busy bc of the free dining. Plus, I don't like taking my kids out that early into the school year just because they are getting used to their schedules and I don't like to mess with that that early in. Jmo.

If it was my family I would pick December, but you really have to pick what is best for your family. I'm sure other people will have different advice for you. Have a great trip in whatever you chose

Weather in Sept is still going to be in the 90s and very humid as well as still being hurricane season. Go for what you haven't experience X-mas at Disney.
