Hi everyone.

I went to disney in september last year and LOVED it and am now saving up to go next year.

We know we will probaly wont be able to go for awhile dut to getting a mortgage etc...

So the BIG question is when to go?

We thought maybe Christmas as it would be very magical...but we liked the hot weather and we are unsure what the weather would be like late november /early december?

We then though maybe halloween but we arent sure if this would be too busy!!!

We want to go at disney cheapest as we went all out last year and cant afford to do that again...

So any tips and advice? :grouphug:

A much asked question!

Obviously Christmas must be a great time to go, however, like you we prefer the nice weather also - although unfortunatley we are stuck with August school holidays.

In my opinion for a good balance between low crowds and nice weather (not too hot) would be late April through early May or October through early November.

Providing you miss Easter.

A good quiet week to go is the one over Halloween itself we went this week in 2002 and it was nice and warm with really low crowds. We were due to be going the same week this year and I read up on peoples trip reports and it looks like it is still a good week to go, we got great weather. Earlier in October is supposed to be busier and the week round about the 5th/6th November is Jersey week and it gets busy then.

I have been in early December a couple of times and this is a great time for low crowds and Christmas decorations. Weather can be warm or can be chilly. When we landed 2 years ago it was only 13 degrees celcius, the same as what we'd left in Manchester! The next day though we had shorts on.

I got a good deal on flights so we are going on boxing day this year but it's going to be wall to wall people which will be a shock to the system!

You'll have a great time whenever you decide to go, you'll be in WDW :)

Early December is a very quiet time in the parks which is great. Plus you have all the Xmas decs, MVMCP, the Osborne Lights, Candlelight Processional etc :)

Having said that when we went in Dec 04 the weather was really quite cold most of the time. we really missed the nice hot weather we associate with Florida :sunny: but I think we were particularly unlucky with the temps :)

If I could chose any time I would choose October (but not round half term when the flight prices increase dramatically)

Thank you all for your replys!

I think I will wait for the brochure to come out and decided which is cheapest.

We really enjoyed the hot weather so it might be a factor when deciding.

Thank you again :thumbsup2

Good Luck, just bear in mind perhaps although we like the hot weather too July/August is extremely hot and humid, if you are not restricted by the school holidays avoid both these months.

Unfortunatley we are stuck with August, don't get me wrong we still have a fantastic holiday but would choose other time to go if we could.
Especially as the flights are a lot cheaper too.

We've been over Christmas, in early January, in the summer holidays and in September and for us by far the best time is September. we liked it so much last year, that we changed a cruise to Venice in June to a cruise to the Canaries (not anything like as nice) in April so we could go back to Florida in September.

I've been in march, October and november, by far the best weather wise was october. November was great for lack of crowds but by thansgiving week it got really packed. March rained a lot and was really crowded due to spring break but october was great all round

I agree fully October is ideal.

March, we found the weather very unpredicatable and often quite cold in the mornings.

We went in March, but found it too cold on any cloudy days.
We went in June and the weather was very, very hot. (We liked it though)
We used to go regularly in September, but recently, the hurricane-season has become less predectable and seems to churn out weather-systems in the Atlantic far more frequently than it used to. That said, it probabaly wouldn't deter us from going again in September, if that was the only time avaiable to us. - In fact, a hurricanne passed right over the top of us in 2004. Nobody got hurt, - although there was quite a mess around our HJ hotel on the 192.
The ironic thing was: the weather - both before and after the storm was fantastic.
It was a case of:-
Monday: cloudless skies. Hot
Tuesday: cloudless skies. Hot
Wednesday: Hurricane. ....not so good
Thursday: cloudless skies. Hot ...etc

Whatever the weather, we're back to going in June again this year.
Steve.

We're going in October and we've been told by lots of friends it's a nice time to go - especially for Halloween and (hopefully) shorts weather! Don't know who you are booking with but with Virgin the half term week (23-27/10) and the week after are cheaper than travelling the week before half term. I couldn't figure out why this is but that's how it worked out for us!

Hope you get there!
