My son turns 16 on valentines day 2005. I asked him what trip he wants to take- he said Disney. February for me is too cold to swim- so when do you suggest we go. I want to go before the end of may- is march still chilly?I would like to to be warm enough for water activities but not too crowded. Where do you suggest we get tickets from? I would like at least 5-7 days in the parks. It will be budget so should we do the value resorts or stay offsite.

Thanks

Feb. avoiding Presidents day week is actually one of the best times to be at WDW for the crowds and walking around the parks -- that being said, since you'd rather go when it's better swimming weather and say "when before the end of May?" -- My next favorite time would be around Mother's day (somewhere around May 12). The weather is great - esp. for swimming and the crowds aren't bad as kids in FL don't get out of school until around May 20th or so and kids from everywhere else are still in school . I wouldn't suggest March for this year unless you don't mind the big time crowds -- Spring break and Easter fall in March this year and it wouldn't be nearly as enjoyable IMO.

After years of going to WDW, we have decided that May is the best month at WDW! The crowds aren't bad, and the weather is great. The problem for us is always if the family was all available for that time of year, but when we can, we'll go in May over every other month!!!!

Make sure you check out Mousesavers.com -- you might find a great deal at a moderate!

Just got back last week. My birthday lasted four daysprincess: . Don't forget to let everyone you talk to know its your son's bday(when making all your ps and reservations) I got lots of perks. And pick up you're bday buttons at each park,:wave2: Tina

If possible, try to go over your son's b-day. My b-day is the 13th of February. This past year I was there the week of my b-day. You could swim, the weather wasn't too cold. And the parks were'nt too crowded, until Friday, as that bordered on President's Day. I turned 40. It was great to be at WDW for my special day.

I just made reservations today (finally!) for the Segway Tour for the morning of my son's 16th birthday ! I took my whole family to WDW last Jan for my 50th and it was so much fun to be in the parks, etc on that day !! I know DS won't wear the birthday badge  , but someone posted a suggestion I'm going to try - they made a little cardboard sign that said "today's my birthday" and held it up behind their son's head throughout the day - he kept trying to figure out how everyone knew it was his birthday !! It should be good for a laugh (until he breaks my arm ! ;) ).

May would be my second choice, people who go in May always have good reports about crowds and weather - one of these days, when all my kids are finally out of school, I'm definitely going to try May (and September!)!! Have a blast!:smooth:

We too asked DD what she wanted for her sweet 16 and she said to go on another disney cruise and to stay at AKL! So of course we said yes!!:hyper:

I am still in the process of planning it alll.

Check hotwire for tickets. I've found its the best price.
