I have a 2 night reservation at the Royal Pacific Resort that I cannot change to just one night. I should have changed last week as single nights were available then and that's when I found out I wasn't going to use the 2nd night...

I was not told when I booked that I was being "locked in" to a two-night reservation so I didn't know this would be an issue.

The reservationist told me to keep checking and that single night reservations should come back up. Is this normally the case? My room at the RPR is booked for May 30-31.

You could cancel and rebook even at the PBH or HRH for 1 night , would work out cheaper than paying for 2 nights as you will only stay 1 night of the 2 at RPR.
You can cancel up to 5 days before checkin and recieve a full refund

Yeah, I'll keep checking for availability at all three. Right now, none are available for one night.

I'm guessing that there is some "formula" the hotels are using and single-night rooms will become available in time for me to make the switch. Right now, the available rooms are blocked out for longer stays.

I just checked for your date. (not sure about kids so I entered 2 adults only.)
PBH is showing availability for 1 nt.
hth.

Thanks, I checked it a little earlier already and was about to post the same thing. I don't want to pay the PBH rate, but I may have to; I booked it and will cancel later if need be.

I'll keep checking twice a day to see if something cheaper shows up...

I checked the web site today (17-APR) and found RPR available for a 1-night stay on May 30th. I called and dropped a day off of my original reservation.
