This is the first time we'll be in WDW during the Flower and Garden Festival. :flower: Does anyone know the general timeframe when they might release the schedule of events and concerts?

Thanks,
Sammy

Thank you! I know it's a little early, but I'm trying to come up with an initial itinerary for April.

Just subscribing to the thread. I might be going to WDW the week of April 22nd and it would be my first trip during the Flower & Garden Festival. If anyone here finds out when the schedule is posted or if anyone has a pdf file of the pamphlet of a previous year's festival that list the events, please let me know. Thanks.

Subscribing....taking my mom for her first trip April 16-24 so will be interested in what's going on then!

Unlike the Food & Wine Festival, are the events at the Flower & Garden Festival free or do you need to purchase tickets to these events?

Sammy and northie ..... we are also going in mid/late April, and also taking parents for the first time! How neat is that?!

ETA: Sammy, we are also 1 DS & 2 DDs, for a total party of 7 (including DGP!).

Sounds like there are going to be plenty of first-timers at the World in April. DS and DDIL are coming with us-it's her first time at the World, and DS is really looking forward to showing her around. They chose to come with us for our 25th anniversary, so it's bound to be a great family trip.

That is cool! I really think that the F&G Festival is such a beautiful time for someone to see WDW for the first time...I just love the topiaries and all those flowers! My dad didn't want to go so it will be a mom and daughter trip. Really looking forward to it!

I just looked through the Guide books from past years and I can't think of anything that is an extra charge- except for the Mothers Day Brunch.

For many years I have been a "Flower Power" concert fan. Keep in mind that sometimes the headliners at the concerts change for one reason or another. Here's the current schedule and my reviews from past appearances...

Flower & Garden Festival (April 5-June 3, 2007)

The Buckinghams April 15-18 (Excellent show!)
The Turtles feat. Flo & Eddie April 19-21 (Always a lot of fun!)
The Box Tops Feat. Alex Chilton April 22-24 (New this year!)
Petula Clark May 4-5 (Also new this year and should be great!)
Davy Jones May 11-15 (Always big crowds for this one!)
B.J. Thomas May 16-17 (Not my favorite show)
The Grass Roots starring Rob Grill May 20-21 (Rob is a homey- I'll be there!)
Gary Puckett May 28-30 (Don't miss this one!)
Herman's Hermits Starring Peter Noone May 31-June 3 (Always long lines for this guy!)

I always enjoy looking through the theme merchandise and artist offerings at the Festival Welcome Center- Innoventions West. Last year, my favorite "local" photographer had a beautiful display of large panoramic art- http://stevevaughn.com/intro.htm
David Doss and and Larry Dotson usually are there as well, with many other outstanding artists.

For everyone in cold weather states- Flower & Garden is one of the best times to visit WDW. It will be like "instant summer" so be sure and bring your own sun screen!

One of the things I was thinking of were a bunch of seminars for the Teddy Bear and Doll Weekend, which was held during the 2006 F & G Festival, and some of those seminars are extra...maybe that weekend is not always held during the Flower and Garden Festival though...sorry, I may have made a mistake on that.

I agree it is one of the best times to visit!

Thanks so much for the info. I notice they don't have yet listed April 25-the end of the week. I remember one year listening to Steppenwolf. Hearing "Magic Carpet Ride" in Epcot seemed so much fun-and a little strange. We've also heard Paul Revere and the Raiders-he puts on an enjoyable show.
Edited to add-yes, Larry Dotson is planning to be there. I recently talked to him and he said he'd definitely be back.
