When to eat at Boma's?

We got a great rate to stay at AKL (due to our ressies at CBR this October) and we want to eat at Boma's one night. It will be three adults and two kids, ages 8 and 11.

My question: What would be the best time for us to eat there? I've read on other posts that the kids buffet is crowded, so if we went early, would there be too many kids? Or if we went later, would they run out of certain specialties? My kids are great at staying up late, but my mother (who will be dining with us) is not - otherwise I would get the latest PS I could...

I always try to make a PS for Boma for right when they open at 5 pm. At least you know the food is fresh and it usually isn't too overrun with kids then since only 1/3 of the tables get filled at most. By the time we get dessert, the restaurant is usually about 1/2 full, but we eat really fast.

Does anyone happen to know how late Boma is open? Should I worry about making PS arrangements if I'm planning to eat there late Monday evening? (DH and I will be flying in from the West Coast that day and figured we could at least do a nice dinner since we'll be too late to visit the parks then.)

I agree with pippy27.

My crew ate at Boma's last year in Nov. and it was great! The food, everything!

I believe we had reservations at 4:30 or 5:00. It was the night we were going to Micky's Very Merry Christmas Party. Needless to say the AKL experience thrilled us so much it took us from arriving before our ressies till eating past 7:00 - the time we were to be at MVMCP. We had a lovely 2+ hour meal. It wasn't crowded when we got there but by 6:30-7:00 the place was booming.

Make early reservations, or you may have to wait in a long line to get your first plate!

Thanks for the info! I'll be calling WDW today after work to get our PS for 5:00 PM.
