When to do MVMCP??

Doing a 3Nland/ 4N Cruise the first Weekend in December (Thurs- Sun Parks). Wanted to see MVMCP. Concerned that it will too late of a night for DD 5 & DS 2. Would it be better to do MVMCP first (thurs) or work up to it (Satur)?

MVMCP is not held on Saturdays...it's either Thurs or Friday or Sunday or Tuesday.

If you can only choose between Thurs or Friday, I'd pick Thurs. If you could also go Sunday, then I'd pick Sunday instead.

I'd avoid Friday due to it being a bit more crowded with locals.

Can't Do Sunday because we leave for our cruise. It looks like Thursday, but we'll have to add day to our trip. I don't trust Chicago in December and want to make sure we'll make it in time.

From what I have read MVMCP sells out every year and they limit the number of tickets that are sold for each night it is held...so what is the difference really?

Am I way off base or can anyone confirm that this is usually the case?

If that's the case, I might as well go Fri. Hate to miss the party if our plane is delayed.
