When to cruise?

I am planning a cruse for next year. I had planned to take my daughter on a Christmas cruise in 2017 but wondering if summer might be a better time. I am a teacher so it pretty much has to be summer or Christmas. We are going to the Caribbean. Any thoughts on which is the better time to cruise? If we do the Christmas cruise, it would include Christmas itself. My daughter loves the beach and anything Disney, so she will like whichever we do, but just wondering if there's a good reason to do one over the other. Any thoughts?

Either season will be fairly busy, with lots of kids onboard. As to whether one is "better" than the other - that depends on whether you have a preference for Christmas decorations/activities or not. There's really not a whole lot of difference in the cruise itself from season to season.

I would choose summer over Christmas every time. In summer you are guaranteed warm weather and warm water.

I like the idea of Christmas on board, but I would also like good weather on land. That is what is making me think summer right now.

You don't mention where you live. I would choose Xmas because where I live, we only have a few months of good weather, so I would rather enjoy the summer weather at home, and escape it by taking a cruise in Dec.

I'm actually in Bakersfield, California. Summer is sort of attractive because winter is the better weather, here.

I'd think that summer would be cheaper, without that holiday surcharge? Maybe?

Water will be about 5° warmer in summer, too. That doesn't sound like a lot but it's noticeable.

Squirk, I was thinking the same thing. If that's the case, it will probably push me in that direction this time.
