Been to the "World" many times before Covid. Plan on doing a solo trip to Disneyland on April 18 & 19. Disney is having Throwback night on April 18 which will throw a small wrench in my plans. Was thinking of doing Disneyland on Tuesday the 18th then hop over to California Adventure in the afternoon. And reverse on Wednesday April 19 start in California Adventure and hop over to Disneyland.

A few questions
Are magic bands plus needed? If yes I assuming I should buy before getting to Cali.

Genie Plus I am assuming I will need it. Lighting Lane is only needed if I ride an attraction the same day?

Park hours aren't available yet was going to wait to get tixs or should I get them now and reserve park days.

thanks for any tips.

Definitely reserve your parks days ASAP.

Starting at Dland and hopping is a good strategy for the event night.

Magic Band for a solo traveller not necessary, just bring a phone charger as you will drain your battery using G+.

I love G+ and as a solo traveller it doesn’t hurt the wallet as much. What do you mean about LL and riding the same day? Do you mean re-rides? G+ definitely make re-rides easier as you can ride standby and then again with a LL in the same day. You can also do standby or single rider (where available) multiple times but LL are only valid one time a day.

Individual Lighning lanes are an additional cost for specific rides (currently Rise of the Resistance, Mickey & Minnie Railway and Radiator Springs Racers.) For Racers save your $ and do the single rider line.

Thank you so some of the rides you need to purchase LL they are not part of the G+. Will do as you suggested do single line lane

Only a few attractions have single rider.
DL
  • Splash Mountain
  • Millennium Falcon Smugglers Run
  • Matterhorn bobsleds
DCA
  • Goofy's Sky School
  • Incredicoaster
  • Radiator Springs Racers
  • Grizzly River Run
  • Spiderman Webslingers
If you've never experienced it, I suggest using LL for Rise of the Resistance. I don't think it's worth it for Mickey & Minnie's Runaway railway.
