when to buy AP pass

We are planning to go to back to WDW in Oct. 2004 (what a long wait) I was thiking of getting an AP. I was hoping I could buy it this December 2003 so that I could use my DC discount before it ends. Is there a timeframe to activate the AP? Is it worth it? I was thinking the prices probably increase in Jan so I would save there and then save with the DC card discount. I just don't want it to expire in December 2004. Thanks

When you purchase the Annual Pass at the Disney Storey, you only get a voucher. You activate the voucher when you enter your first park. Your year begins when you active the voucher.
