when to book poly concierge- lagoon for aug 04

a poster told me that the AP rates usually don't get released until 2-3 months prior to the date you are looking for. i want to take my mom to disney in august 04 and am considering poly concierge - lagoon view or akl concierge. though i am leaning more toward poly. my question is how long should i wait to book for august 04? do poly concierge - lagoon view go fast? i want to wait for AP rates but am also concerned about not getting the room or dates i want. i know that i can book and have the rate applied but doesn't that decrease the chances of AP rates being released if everyone books at rack?

HELP!!!! i just went thru this with my universal trip coming up in june 04 and can't believe just 1 week later i am playing the waiting game with another resort!

When are you going in Aug 04? That makes a big difference when you should book. If you are going in late August then I would wait to see if AP rates come out. Kids should be in school then which means not many families will be booking. Rooms should be available which means AP Rates will probably be released for that time.
If you are going in early to mid August then I would book now at rack or see if AAA is available. You can always change to AP Rate later if they become available. Early to mid august is usually very busy because kids and families are vacationing just before the new school year starts.
You are right about booking at rack. If many people are booking at rack then Disney would probably decide not to release AP Rates, or only release very few rooms at AP Rates. The decision is yours, but using these tips may save someone else booking an AP Rate.

Disney is busy all the way through Labor Day (at least it was this year). My suggestion, book as early as you can. There are only about 60 concierge lagoon view rooms in the resort, early bird catches the worm!
