We plan to stay at POR the week of June 4th 2005. I am hoping to get an AP discount. Should I wait until the discounts come out to book or should I book now hoping they will come out. I'm not willing to pay rack rate. What's the cancellation policy?

Also, is there usually a AP discount this time of year? I know that it is not guarnateed, just wondering if in the past this time of year has had them.

Thanks in advance, Lisa

I would definitely book now & then wait to see what codes become available.

Disney's cancellation policy is that you have 5 days prior to your arrival date to cancel.

As far as historic AP rates, I'm not sure what has been available at that time of year, but maybe someone else can help you with that.

If you're not willing to pay rack rate why bother booking the room??

Having a room at rack does not guarantee that you will get a discount. By booking the room there will be less availability and it will be less likely that discounts will be offered.

JMO, but I think she stands a better chance of getting a code then not booking a room & not being able to get one later on. So far, for our last 3 Nov. trips we have not had any problem applying a code to our existing room ressie.

I realize that the OP is going in June, however, if she is intent on staying on Disney property then I would definitely book a room only ressie & apply a code later if one comes out.

OP - you may also want to book at an AS or Pop if you need to be very budget conscious this trip. This way if you are unable to get a code you could stay at a budget hotel for a similiar price that you would have paid with a code at a moderate.

Thanks Melsmice, I do have AAA if they don't give a AP discount. I guess I'll make that my plan B.

airjoe, your post was not helpful in anyway. It's obvious you've nothing better to do then search the boards and post useless information. I hope you're not so rude and ungracious when you visit the parks.

Glad I could help! I'll keep my fingers crossed that you get a code when they do come out! Good luck. :D
