When to book Club Level at HRH

Hi

It's our first time staying at a Universal Resort Hotel, we have a garden view room booked, but have been wondering about a possible upgrade to club.
I have been reading a few threads where they have said that upgrades might be available upon checkin for $50 per night. Is this the norm or have they just been lucky?
To upgrade now will be a extra $110 each night on top of what we have paid + tax.
Is it worth it for that amount of money?
There are 3 of us DH, myself and DD (14) we are going Sept 21st - 23rd

It's okay, I have upgraded anyway.

With the $$ rate being $2 to the £1 made sense to book it now.

I am in the same situation. We have a garden view room booked, there are 3 of us (DH, myself and DS (13). We are going Oct 6-10. Can we upgrade to club level for $50.00 per night? Is there a certain discount I need to ask for? Thanks for your help....

i think it is more like or closer to $100 a night for the upgrade from garden view.

i'll be there at hrh also close to your dates.

I am getting excited about our trip and reading these boards (which I have just recently found) is making me obsessed with planning. My DH thinks I've gone crazy....I am going crazy thinking about upgrading to club. There are only 3 of us, so I am back and forth on if the extra $$ is worth it for us. But on the other hand, it sounds like it would be convenient. Is there ANY way to get upgraded to club for less than the $135 I was quoted on the phone? If I upgrade to pool view is the club upgrade cost reduced? Also, does anyone know how busy the first week of October usually is?
