When to (actually) buy DxDP?

We've DVC room booked. And reserved several dinner reservations. Is there any down side to not buy the DxDP until a week before the vacation? I assume the credits won't be activated till I checked in, there is no reason to pay too far ahead.

You'll need to do it at least 48 hrs in advance. If you're renting DVC points, you might want to check with the owner to see if they have an earlier deadline since you have to go through them to do it.

The only downside is if you're doing any prepaid places that would accept your dining plan as pre-payment instead of charging your credit card.

Thanks. That's what I thought. I'm the owner. So now I just have to "pre paid" my dinner show and get reimburse later.
