when they ask you "what r you celebrating?"

We have been many times during special celebrations, and it does seem that there is always something....a card from Cinderella with balloons in our room for my birthday, a card and a bottle of champagne with glasses and strawberries for our 10th anniversary, our son recieved the photopass card with a note from Mickey, I had on my birthday button for my 40th and a CM gave me a cast member pin, our son was asked to drop the rope from the fairy godmother at the MK last year on his birthday....I think that it just depends....but each and every time something wonderful and unexpected happens, I always send a thank you note to where ever the surprise came from just to let them know it was appreciated!!

hopefully you will find the magic too.

You can get them when you check in at the resort and if you are staying off property, you need to find the customer service desk in the park and they have them there. MK has them in City Hall, DDD has a place right next to the lego area, Epcot is to the left of spaceship earth when you first walk into the park, I believe that AK isto the left when you first walk into the park.

My daughter celebrated her 21st birthday at Disney. At the character breakfast at Tusker House they brought her out a cupcake with a candle on it. They noticed that she was wearing a birthday pin. All the cast members that we passed that day wished her a happy birthday by name ... she loved it.

We are staying at POR and my travel agent put in that we are celebrating our 20th so hopefully they will give us a button at the resort when we check in.:lovestruc

No matter what this is going to be great.

I didn't mean to imply that I expected it, sorry  I am hopeful that they will recognize her BD in some way though, even just a big Disney Happy Birthday would be nice for her. :goodvibes

I didn't mean to imply that YOU were expecting something! So many people do though, and get undeservedly upset when they don't get a towel animal or celebratory cupcake ;-)
I hope she does get some magic!!

for hotel, dining reservations, etc. do they ever really do anything with that information? just wondering if it is for any purpose?

Last year we told them we were celebrating my dad's birthday (we were, but it wasn't the main reason for the trip). At Crystal Palace they put confetti on our table, sang to him, and gave him a cupcake. Every place else they didn't do anything.

We got pins & told some who asked that we were celebrating life since our ds got terribly ill on our cruise last April & needed to be airlifted off the ship. We got free dessert at a couple of places.

Thought I'd share our celebration...
We got engaged about a week before our trip to Disney so I added that as our celebration to our reservation. When we checked into our hotel (AKL) we were given the just engaged pins and were upgraded to a savannah view room! We also received a congratulations card from Mickey and Minnie with the photopass discount that some others have mentioned. We got a few cute towel animals and mousekeeping even put heart stickers on our water glasses in the room.

I never bothered to go back and add a celebration to our dining reservations, but I did wear my pin everywhere. At Le Cellier, our waitress gave us a congratulations card that was signed by some of the waiters there. At CRT, our table was decorated with confetti and we were given a table by the window overlooking the carousel. Also, at Ohana we were given a table by the window with a castle view so we could watch wishes while we had our dinner.

I was super impressed with all that Disney did for our "Celebration"! It was magical!

We have celebrated our 32, 34 and will celebrate our 36 wedding annivsary at Disneyworld.
When we register for our vacation I always put what anniversary we are celebrating. We have been given upgrades for our rooms, champane, cupcakes, buttons, special cupcakes, placemats, and many more things. It is wonderful to celebrate a special day at Disney. We wear our annivsary buttons everyday we are there.

what a great way to celebrate My husband and I were atdisney on our first wedding anv. and now we will celebrate our 20th it will be special.

When we went this past October we got a couple of surprises. We got lots of congratulatoins from everone. CM and folks on vacation. A couple of places gave us free desserts, champagne and cards. The best was Sanna. We recvd champagne, a card signed by CMs in their native language and they all sang us a song. It was quite magical.

my family celebrated a reunion.

we got pins. and when we wore them we were given two magical moments. we got into animal kingdom first. and got to do something for the festival of the lion king

Every time I called or made a reservation, I was asked if we were celebrating anything. I finally said well my birthday and my grandson's birthdays are a day apart but in a couple weeks. Yes, they wanted to put it down. I don't know what to expect if anything but they have it.

Is there anyway to go back and add what you're celebrating on the WDW site? Out of the four of us, I'm the only one who has ever been, so I want to say we are celebrating their first visits. I didn't even think about it when I made the reservations.

You can go into your reservation and add it if you have all the info (name, dates, res. #) You can also call and have a CM add it.

This is great to know! I didn't mention anything we were celebrating either, other than it's our very first trip to Disney, because DD and DH's birthdays are the week after we return home. It will also be 12 yrs since DH had a heart valve replaced - at the ripe old age of 29! I guess we have more to celebrate than I thought!

Hmmm - I wish we WERE celebrating something - does not having to be at work count??
