We will be at WDW June 25-30. Dh doesn't do fl summer heat so it's just me----bringing my dd 15 and her bestie (15) and ds 12 (jury is still out on if he's bringing a friend). I was originally looking forward to staying at our Home, CSR, but after thinking about being with teens/preteens all day and it just being me, I thought I might want to have some extra space and maybe a balcony. Our choices are AKL, Poly and Beach Club (all standard view)-----I've pretty much dumped AKL since the bus rides are the longest (time is precious while we're there lol) and the rooms aren't much bigger than csr from what I've read. So it's btw Poly and BC. The girls will go off on their own here and there as dd is a savvy WDW visitor and knows her way around--not concerned about her riding the monorail or buses/boats so long as she's with her friend. I'm stymied bc I love the poly's closeness to MK and would love to sit on the beach and watch wishes, but I think the kids would all love the Beach Club pool and I've never tried the character breakfast at BC but heard it's great. (We aren't doing 'ohana for dinner tho breakfast is a possibility--we'll be on the meal plan).......I'll be happy wherever we book but would like to book tonight.

Ultimately, we'll have 6 days of hoppers which will include a water park day. We'll sleep in some days and put in some pool time before heading to the parks on those days. Looking at 3 visits to mk (minimum), one morning at epcot, one animal kingdom morning, a dtd pm, and studios for 2-3 visits. So if wer're spending the majority time at any parks it's mk and studios (one night is really just for star wars party)

Anyone with teens or preteens care to chime in with their suggestions? (if we end up with 5 we'll have to go for bc or poly---I know riverside is a choice but we've stayed there and it was fine but I didn't love it)

I do not have teens, but will chime in anyway. Either Poly or Beach Club will be wonderful. I, personally, would go with Beach Club (but request a full balcony.) The pool is the major reason. Both for teens and you! Being able to walk to Epcot and so close to HS is a huge perk. You can either send the girls off to HS on their own, or walk into Epcot yourself for a little "quiet" time, and the bus to MK is not too bad from BC. When not in a hurry, you can also walk through Epcot and monorail to MK if you have hoppers. We were formerly Poly lovers, and I do still like it ALOT, but as our kids age, we have turned to Beach and Yacht Club as our top choice.

Poly is lovely, but we really love the EP resort area for the evening entertainment (at the Boardwalk) and the ability to walk to two parks and so many restaurants. With teens, they will have the BC pool (Poly pool is nice, but there is no shade!), they could walk over to mini-golf, ice cream, the carnival games on the Boardwalk, etc. There is just so much more going on over there than at the Poly IMHO. I also agree that the bus to MK isn't bad from the EP resorts. We typically hop on whichever comes first (BC/YC, BWI or Swan/Dolphin bus) so you actually have some more transportation options. And, as mentioned, you can always take the monorail between EP and MK and get to and from that way as well.

Agree with BC - great pool complex, access to Epcot and HS, and right off the Boardwalk. Cape May is a great character brft as well!

We've stayed at both Poly and BC and while we had a nice stay at the BC, the Poly is our favorite and would be my choice. The rooms are quite a bit larger than BC and all rooms come with a daybed. A daybed would have to be requested at the BC as not all rooms come with one. Parties of 5 are given preference for those rooms, but there is no guarantee you will get one (if you don't get one, they will provide a roll away). We also prefer the Poly pool to SAB at the BC. We love that the pool backs up to the beach with a view of the castle in the distance, as well as being able to watch fireworks while swimming. Getting to Epcot from the Poly is easy as it's a quick 5-7 minute walk to the TTC to catch the monorail. A balcony is a toss up at both resorts as not all rooms at BC have a full balcony and there are no balconies on the 2nd floor of any of the Poly longhouses. With all of that said, both are nice resorts and I'm sure you'll have a great time at either one, so I would choose the one that appeals to you and the kids the most. Good luck.

Thank you everyone! I think we're going to go with the Beach Club this trip and save the Poly for a trip when dh can join us. Thank you again!!!!!!

I would go with the BC. The walk to Epcot and DHS plus the pool is amazing!
