Does anyone think they will have a "grand opening" sale so to speak? Or has anyone experienced when they come in, other airlines having great rates to compete?

It has been so many years since a new established airline has come in (other than airtran who we have always had great service from at a good price)....US Air has held us hostage for so many years in Pittsburgh, it would be nice to get some competition going....

Thanks in advance

I would imagine that any fare that Southwest has at least US Airways will match it.

I have been scared to book on US Air for about a year...now they just cut 100's of jobs here so I think it is just too risky.

If I am correct, SWA comes in May1st. I booked a NS flight to MCO for May 14-22 and got a rate of $707.00 for all 4 of us. When I checked back the same flight was up to $960.00+. Also US air was around 260.00/person. I am happy trying SW, so we will see what happens......

I checked May 7 to 13 last week, SW was $186. Air Tran was $201. I took AirTran because their return from MCO was 5:40pm, Southwest was ~ 11:10am. I was holding off buying air for personal reasons (may have to cancel), USAir's 3 morning flights had lots of seats so I figured I had time, but when they cancelled 2 out of the 3 and the first one was soldout, I figured I better make a move.
