When should we make reservations?

My husband and I are wanting to go back to Disney World September 2008. We are hoping that Disney will offer the "free dining" again. We will be traveling with our 2 sons (10 and 4). We would like to stay at POP Century. We will probably be booking thru AAA since they allow us to make payments until the full amount is due.

We are just wondering how far in advance can we make our reservations to make sure that we get POP Century if they offer the "free dining"

I made our September 2006 reservations in June of 2005. Started off as just a room only with a AAA discount and then when free dining was offered in April of 2006 my TA switched it to a package.

You can book a room-only reservation now, but the rate won't be guarenteed. If you want to book a package, Disney will be releasing package rates in the late summer or early fall. My reccomendation would be to book then for a Magic Your Way Package; this way it will be easier to add on the free dining if Disney does offer that again next year (it's somewhat complicated to convert a room-only reservation to a package).

I just saw on the disneyworld.com website where they're doing the dining plan and it's for the month of September only, which will work for you.
