When should we go?

We are planning a May or June 2011 trip, and I'm thinking through the pros and cons of each month.

May 2011
-better chance of getting BLT
-will pull DS6 out of school (no biggie for us)
-smaller crowds

June 2011 - first week
-Will be after DS3 birthday. He'll be 4, so he can go to Discovery Club and we can go out to dinner. He can go on the Pirate Cruise with DS6.
-Schools will be out; may not get BLT and crowds will be getting bigger

I'm leaning towards the June date so that both boys can go on the pirate cruise. Last time, DS6 went, and we took DS3 to breakfast with us.

BLT is our first choice, but if we can't get a 1BR, we are open to AKL, BCV, or VWL. Of course, we'll stay wherever there's availability.

What do you think we should do?

would go for June - just for less problems. you can probably get a 1-bedroom blt - lake view.

I agree with spiceycat in your situation. For me, I would go in the beginning of May to see some of the Flower and Garden show!

May - I am always for smaller crowds and the weather shouldn't be as hot as June.

I don't really think there is a significant difference in crowds between end of May and beginning of June. We also have found the weather to be similar. Now if you are talking early May....Yes...Love that!

Totally agree with Diane. We went several years for my Birthday, which is May 25th. We were there for some part of that week. The closer it got to Memorial Day, it was unreal the difference from one day to the next. Kids getting out of school. I asked a CM about it, she said," it's the official start of summer season for them and the crowd continue to grow." Now, we have moved our trip to first week of May, wonderful time to go.

Totally agree with Diane. We went several years for my Birthday, which is May 25th. We were there for some part of that week. That's my twins birthday! Great holiday birthday....anyway, my DD and I went for her 21st, (son was otherwise obligated), but we went mid June due to her college schedule. It was great.....but REALLY REALLY hot and humid. If I could have pulled them both out of school, I'd have gone early May.
