We had originally planned a trip in May 2008, but circumstances have changed those plans for us. We would still like to make our first-ever trip to Disney in 2008. I was thinking either late October or early/mid November. Any comments on crowds, weather, timing, etc.???? All opinions appreciated :)

I think any of those times would be good. Low crowds. Would you rather see halloween/fall decor or Christmas? The end of October you can see MNSSHP. The middle of November would start MVMCP.

Personally I would go mid november. Only because I have been for Halloween/fall. I would love to see Disney at Christmas.

Have a great time planning. It is a very important part of your first Disney Trip. If you have questions this is a great place to get answers.

My last 3 recent trips to WDW have all been in September, and there weren't many people at the parks during that time. Of course, this was 7 years ago and things may have changed since then. . . .

November does sound like a terrific time to go!

Definately vote for September...low crowds, Halloween decorations are up and some evenings have MNSSHP, and there is always a chance of getting free dining!

October great Food & Wine at Epcot, love going at this time.

My family and I went to WDW in early November (6th-10th). The Food and Wine festival was still going on and many of the Christmas decorations were up. We were even able to see the construction of the gigantic gingerbread house at the Grand Floridian! The crowd levels was fairly low and the weather was great (the highs were in the mid-high 70s for our entire stay). Obviously, my vote would be for early/mid November. :thumbsup2

We have enjoyed all of our trips to WDW. We tend to go more during the Value Seasons. We are planning our next trip for 12/14/08 to 12/21/08. We both have come to realize that once you have done Disney at the holidays, it just doesn't feel like the holidays without being there.

September is fine, but HOT and HUMID. Bigger chance of showers and it's still very much hurricaine season. Go prepared to push fluids, bring your rain ponchos. Sometimes Disney offers the dining plan for free as an incentive during this time frame. Mid-month, MNSSHP begins.

October as the month progresses, it's less hot, less humid, and less rainy. Still hurricaine season and there are MNSSHP's. The Food & Wine Festival happens this month too.

November gets much more comfortable weather wise. Temps vary from hot to cold....with little warning. Food & Wine in the early part of the month. MVMCP's begin mid-month. Thanksgiving and Fall break crowds can get out of hand, but otherwise a lovely time.

December the early part of the month is my favorite. MVMCP is a must do for us at least twice! Love the cooler weather and the lower crowds in the beginning part of the month. Pop Warner football events, the filming of the Christmas Parade for ABC, and MouseFest can make for some interesting challenges in park touring, but it's still pretty awesome.....well, until Christmas and then it's just a zoo.

Thank you everyone for your comments. I guess we've decided on the end of October. This will also allow both DH and I to be at Disney World on our birthdays. That was the deal-breaker for us. :cool1:
