When should we go to WDW?

I am just starting to think about heading to Disney again, sometime either late Spring (May) or the Fall (late Sept - mid Nov). We went a few years ago & took advantage of the free dining plan. I loved having practically everything paid for up front & enjoyed the relative lack of crowds. I was nervous about booking during hurricane season but thankfully the weather was great. I know there are other deals throughout the year on hotels and things and wondered if anyone had some thoughts on their favorite time to go to WDW, whether it's for the small crowds, the weather, the deals or something else I haven't thought of.

I'm not sure if any of this matters but we are a family of 5. We stayed at the Polynesian last time...definitely enjoyed the convenience of being near so many transportation options but are open to staying somewhere else this time too.

We've been during both of those times and preferred the spring. While we enjoyed Nov and all of the Christmas things I'm looking forward to attending the flower and garden festival again. We enjoyed the late April weather over the November weather too, although I think it may have been unusually warm and humid while we were there last week, I'm not sure. It was in the upper 80's and very humid most days too.

Back in 2007 we were there in October and I don't remember it being nearly as warm so I'm thinking it was just usually hot last week. We did enjoy our October trip more then our November trip but I think that I've read that crowds can be higher in October now.

We look at crowds/weather/what do we want to do there? We went in September for low crowds since we were traveling with a large group (14 ppl) and didn't want to have issues doing things together. We are next going in late March to enjoy the F&G festival, but as a smaller family, so crowds don't really bother me there.

Best time to go with the least crowds is when school is in session. I can't go during the summer months (August/July/ even September). Can't stand the heat and humidity. Ruins the trip for me. I got married in mid-October at WDW and the weather was wonderful...thankfully. Also did a trip in December, was there for Christmas. If you don't mind the crowds, it's a great time to go.

I'm trying to decide when to go too. I'm trying to decide between late October and mid-late November. Right now I'm leaning toward November for a convergence of non-peak crowds and good weather.

Halloween time frame is great. low crowds extra decorations. not highest priced.

Halloween time is great but the end of October is not low crowds anymore. More moderate to slightly above moderate. Too many things going on at WDW to be "low".

We have just returned from a seventeen night trip to WDW, and spent the beginning of November there (30th October- 16th November).

This time of year is a great time to go- the weather is still warm, but a lot cooler and less humid than the summer. The crowds tend to be much lower (although surprisingly this year they were rather busy :confused3 ) and the special events add an extra-special outlook on the whole thing. If you time your trip right, you can experience:

~ MNSSHP (last one was on the 1st Nov this year)
~ Food and Wine Festival (through to mid-November this year- and great if on the DDP as the food served (minus alcohol) counts as a snack credit! Plus great performances from musicians)
~ MVMCP (first one was on the 8th November this year- what's not to love about Christmas?! It truly is a wonderful party)

Overall, if you can go for that long (eight or nine days?) you can see three of the best events WDW offers and benefit from lower crowds and warm temperatures. :goodvibes
