When Should I Start Planning??

DFi and I are planning on taking our honeymoon to Disney at the end of October 2006. We've seen Disney at Christmas and want to check it out for Halloween. I hadn't planned on booking anything until July or August. With all of the changes for booking ADRs (and we love to eat so this is a big part of our trip) and park hours being posted earlier, do you think I should book our trip earlier? How early?

This time of year has been getting busier and busier. Do you know what resort you want to stay at? Not sure if you will be staying at a deluxe or not. If not, and you are looking at a moderate, POFQ was totally booked by the time I went to reserve this last summer.

If you want to go to MNSSHP, those tickets have still been available up until the day of except for a few sell out dates, one of which is Halloween night for sure....every year.

We have never been a family to make ADR's because we don't want to be tied down that way, but I read on other threads that they are getting harder to get if you wait. If this is important to you, which it sounds like it is, then you need to start as soon as you can. This is just my opinion, maybe others will feel differently.

I'm not saying you need to start today, but waiting until the summer might not get you exactly what you're looking for, especially for a honeymoon.

Congrats...Good Luck

Become a disney fanatic like the rest of us, lol. I will traveling to the house of the mouse in September 2006 and am all ready planning and saving. That is the fun part of it. Planning now gives you alot of time to research and find that right resort just for you. Also planning gives you a jump start on what you really want to do and see at Disney. Once my trip comes upon myself and my family I become bored because I don't have much to do except sit and wait the dreadful day after day wait time- yuch!!!!!!!

POFQ is full for the summer already!! That's the resort we stayed at the first time we went, so we were hoping to stay there. I guess I should at least book the room in January.

thanks for your help! :goodvibes

Right This Very Second...........now Now Now!!!!!!!!! Have Fun!!!!

You mean you haven't started planning yet? What are you waiting for?

Right now I am fine tuning my trip to Disney World for Thanksgiving and planning another trip to Disney World in August 2006.

Normally I start planning a year in advance. Actually, it's been completly planned for several months :rotfl: , I just haven't booked it yet. I've just had so many commitments recently I haven't thought about it. I'm definitely booking it within the next couple of weeks.
